Jay, the auto shut-off issue you raise doesn't exist - at least not now. I've just left both my transmitter and receiver on for a whole blues jam and they were still on and working after five hours. Sure, if you turn the transmitter off and leave the receiver on then after 10 minutes the receiver will turn itself off. Equally, leave both transmitter and receiver on in a silent environment and they'll turn themselves off after a bit. But provided you leave both transmitter and receiver switched on and picking up ambient sound of some sort (not necessarily loud) the rig stays 'live' for as long as it's got battery.

In addition to what you said I’ve plugged the receiver into a (50’)cable & run that to the mixing board. If it powers off the transmitter & receiver are close to me & easily turned on quickly. Haven’t tried it with a 100’ cable but I think it would work.

I think a good reason for not having the Nux automatically charging, is that you don't want to store rechargeable batteries fully charged. I have been using the Cloud Vocal Prime for about a year now. It's a pretty good mic but definitely has some flaws. One of my biggest frustrations with the mic when I first got it was how unstable the plastic clip felt on my bell (like you were showing around 2:40). One trick I discovered on accident (that Micahel appears to be doing as well) is using the clip with the "Face Down" label facing up. For whatever reason, using it this way on my sax is WAY more stable. I also wonder if his sound on the Cloud Vocal would have been improved if he used the foam windscreen. All that said, I really enjoyed this comparison. The NU-X B-6 seems like a really solid option for the price. Thanks for the video Jay.

Although the NUX sounds great and has excellent features, it broadcasts in the 2.4 GHz band, which is the same band as many other wireless products. You cannot choose which frequency, NUX chooses automatically. Lately, I have been sharing a stage with 18 other wireless devices. 6 of these broadcast in the 2.4 band. I have a Sennheiser clip on mic for one band that I play in. It has the transmitter pack that I clip onto my pocket with the wire going to the mic. Our sound man has the receiver in his rack. Since I've started playing with 4 other groups, I was looking for a wireless mic I could use with all 4 and not have bulky equipment to carry. That brings me to this, I was shown the NUX B-6...I fell in love with it for the convenience...no wires, compact, simple to set up and play. My concern was with the 20 meter distance limitation and possible interference with other signals since it's only 2.4 Ghz. So far, from the numerous videos I've watched, no one has had any issues with any of that, and now, your video shows the quality of the sound the sax has through this NUX B-6 system. I'm beginning to lean to the NUX for my other mic.

Also, the volume that was coming out of that alto used for the testing, was not loud. If felt like the testing sax player thought he was in a public library? lol It would be nice to hear a metal mouthpiece and a triple FFF volume rather than a medium volume at the loudest. As I don't have much space, I play close to my work computer, the router was sitting on the same desk close to where my zoom H5 was standing, connected to the receiver. The interference was really noticeable. I couldn't get a clear signal if I moved as far as 10 Ft from the receiver. I disable the 2.4 Network and left only the 5G, and things got way better. So, be aware of this. They mention it in the manual, but who reads the manuals, right? It's like a side note, not even in bold saying to stay at least 2 meters away. Be aware of that as it is a clear limitation that can affect home users like myself and many others.

What do you think of the AMT wireless sax mic.? as thinking of purchasing it seems most sax players I know use it. I currently use the Shure clip on SM98 with multi channel system. It's an oldie but goodie and not noisy at all.I just don't like having to infer red and re- signal it if someone else is on the same channel and the belt pack I have mounted with velcro on the saxes that I use most on gigs but I hate that I have velcro on my MkVI's! but I hate the belt clip more!

Is this the Kimafun KM-G150-3 or a different model?

Is it possible to buy the NUX Wireless System without the microphone? - to be used with my DPA.

Not sure. Haven’t seen that configuration.

Thanks as always Jay! Interesting video! I noticed that the amazon link for the Nux doesn't work so good...correct? Thanks again

The Nux is great but has a very limited range and any physical interference between the mic and the receiver will cut the signal, so it’s not good for waking around. Only for playing somewhere static with no leads.

Great review ! Is there a workaround for the 10 minute auto shutoff- sleep mode on the NUX B-6 ? As a singer sax player I think it's a major design flaw particularly with no mute option. Thanks, Joe

I just make sure to turn it back on after a set break. Not ideal for sure.

@@bettersax thanks for the quick reply. As a singer-sax player I frequently go 10 mins plus between sax and singing also if a sound man out in the house has the receiver he has to be aware as well. Even if it's onstage it's one more thing to worry about. A fatal flaw in an otherwise excellent unit. Oh well, my Samson wireless is still working well. Hopefully the next NUX model will rectify this problem.

So, I did a gig yesterday, and Overall, I really enjoyed the mic. I have a complaint, though. If you are playing on a very sunny environment, like an outside wedding gig, you just can't see the light. It's too dim.The receiver signal light is OK, but the transmitter is really bad.
