Wasn't the original recording solo performed by Richie Cannata? Sorry, I only bring this up because it says on the video title Mark Rivera. Love your channel.

A beginner like me...isn't gonna spend 4k on they're first horn. With taxes and warranty I spent around 400

Thanks for the KZbin video clip. What ligature do you recommend for a metal Jody Jazz Super Jet? I'm interested in purchasing my first metal mouthpiece for alto-sax. Thanks.

Respect here for the compilation of great jazz players. Shifting into another direction, I wonder if you had also explored saxophonists in rock music. There is one exceptional lyrical player, David Sanborn? I refer to his solos in Paul Butterfield Blues Band, In My Own Dream...listen to his solos on that title as well as Morning Blues. THanks for your great videos.

It looks like the geeklet misses one curved edge compared to the original reedgeek, is that important?
@bettersaxКүн бұрын
This is correct, but we can do all the adjustments we need without that extra curved edge.

My old link lig from high school played horribly with the mouthpiece it came with, but works great with my retro revival FL lol odd but good for my wallet

Ive been loving your videos Jay. I’m coming back to the saxophone from a 15 year hiatus and based on your recommendations I got a Jean Paul Tenor sax and one of your burnin mouth pieces and I love both! Thanks!

Never use noise canceling for this situation because when noise canceling does is it plays what is essentially the opposite of the sound of hearing to cancel it out which ends up just admitting more sound waves into your ear, therefore making it louder, therefore, giving you tinnitus or whatever faster I don’t know what the deal with the Apple transparency mode is, but it might be similar usually earplugs are usually the way to go

Although, they all should good Jay, but sax mouthpieces have become overpriced and hype by the designers. Where does this end ? Soon, we will be looking at $1000 mp. This is NUTS !

Great vid ! I feel like I swap between identifying with both statements but feel like they have to be balanced well to get better whilst also enjoying the process of playing. we all sucked at some point and practised our horns to get better but I have to reward myself at some point or playing an instrument is just a negative experience

I don't entirely agree with you. The metal bell is very helpfull. If you put a paper towel in it, it prevents it from dripping onto your pants. 😉
