Tomplay are not compliant with consumer protection legislation that requires notification before taking payment. Tomplay just take payment without notification not providing opportunity to opt out. Tomplay will never refund. In short this app is a subscription trap for those who are unaware.

Now that I'm ACTUALLY studying sax, I have been binge watch all your catalog again. Just finished my first practice with 1:48 app.- It's magical! - I struggled to find a buddy app for my practice and the tunner my teacher shared didn't transpose (or it was hidden somewhere) make me lost during the session. Now I have the recording of the practice while the tone matcher on the headphones (another great tip) was essential to find little mistakes in my embouchure. Thanks again for your content and all of your work.

Great video Jay! I've been using Tonal energy and for some reason it always show my notes a bit sharp. It also happened with some recordings played to check. The Tom Play APP it's great. The recording function it's hard to adjust the delay and mic. I love that you can loop sections of a song. Hopefully in the future, they can have more standards in there, I realize it might be difficult with licenses and stuff, but it would be great. Another thing Tom play that I can't use is the cursor, it actually messes me up, but it might be me LOL.

Anytune Pro is just the best. I have it on all my devices. A feature I really love is that I can export my markers on one device and then import on another. I'll do this if I've started using my laptop or iPad but want to listen to sections on loop in the car on my phone. The Reframe function that allows you to isolate instruments is also a killer feature.

I have used TomPlay for over a year now. I can’t fault it. It has recently added the function to play and video yourself which is spot on using my iPhone which has a decent mic to record. You can also request songs. I’ve had 2 done for me. It’s also taught me to read music 👌👌

Hi Mr Jay, I have been watching every video that you have on KZbin. I've explored your website, My question is, as a older person wanting to learn to play the beautiful sax, Can I really truly learn to play this instrument or am I just fantasizing of doing so? I will be 60 in 7 months.

I have several of these apps and I agree, they are enormously helpful. I got Tonal Energy several years after I watched another of your videos recommending it. I use it every day. I also use iReal Pro and Anytune Pro. What a difference they make! Great video as usual. Thanks, Jay!

Hi Jay. . Regarding Tonal Energy: I have been using Soundcorset as my metronome for years, but switched to TE in order to be able to hear only Beat 1+3 or 2+4 as you suggested on your tutorial. However it has been a couple of years since you recommended that app, and the one I just downloaded is so complicated that after spending an hour how to vary the beats, I have given up. It assume that the one you downloaded is simpler. Chris- a Yank in Auvergne.
@bettersax2 жыл бұрын
There is a button that puts the metronome in simple mode. I agree it is over complicated otherwise.
@TheChrisschoch2 жыл бұрын
@@bettersax Thanks Jay. I will look for that button. Love your site/blog- also, after viewing your lesson, I just had my daughter bring me a back a Reed Geek she ordered from Amazon, and it does work wonders. How can I mention the purchase so that you are credited with the plug? A Yank in Auvergne.

Why not Amazing Slow Downer? Let’s you modify the key and the speed, lets you loop sections, and connects to your Spotify playlists. Sometimes, I split the screen with Ultimate Tabs so I can see and transpose the chords. But they are user supplied chords, so be careful, sometimes you find a lame version. I go with the most liked version to minimize the problem. Sometimes people correct the author of the tab in the comments. I guess I use Amazing Slow Downer, Ultimate Tabs, and Spotify because I hardly ever read music for sax. I play with guitar players who give me a playlist for a gig, and what do you know, they tend to change everything to E or A instead of the original key. Leaving me in F# and B, all the black keys. I use Tomplay for my piano lessons because I am remedial on piano.

Hello Mr. Metcalf, can you discuss saxophone stands? I just bought Yanagisawa AWO-2 and it slides to the side in my old stand because the bell on the old sax was symmetrical whereas the bell on AWO-2 is opening to a bit to the side. Can you recommend something?
