I’ve just got one of these about a month ago it’s improved my game so much on average 6 shots a round
@ESikora128 жыл бұрын
Actually picked up two of these off a pre-owned rack, a 35" and a 40", just last week for an absolute steal. My plan was to sell them both but, after rolling the shorter one for a while I kind of became attached to it. I'm a natural forward press player with the putter and this allowed me to make that natural move without feeling like I was going to drive the ball straight down because of a delofted face. I'm a left-hand low putter already and it just seemed to fit naturally into how I like to putt

I bought a odyssey arm lock a few weeks ago and after about 4 or 5 hours of practice I absolutely love it. These are great for anyone who has problems with their wrists breaking down
@pgatourdriven31168 жыл бұрын
I just bought the 2hm version of this. it has no offset when you forward press. and it is awesome from 8ft and in. lag putting does take some practice but once you get it dialed in this is an amazing way to putt. and I highly recommend giving this style a try. they make a cheaper odyssey version if you don't want to go all in and get the bettinardi. cheers from Boston Massachusetts.

Don't listen to the know it all viewers Pete! I thought it was an honest and fair review because you weren't completely sold on the idea but understood what the benefits were and explained them with an open mind. Look forward for the next putter review.

Thank you for the video Pete I have been putting with Cleveland Arm lock putter 6 months now but was not getting my hands low enough and my eyes over the ball. Have copied your set up and am not pushing nearly as many to the right now. Have cut my average putts per round from 38 to 32. Can attack the 20 footers more now that I am confident of making the 2-4 foot return putts. Is a weird feeling for a while and takes some work but will help a lot of us

Lie angle 71 degrees? Usually lie angle for an Armlock putter about 75 degree. Highly recommend trying this style of putting. Takes out all small muscles and uses big muscles - feels more like you’re hitting your puts as opposed to stroking them. Super effective … only problem is on longer uphill puts hard to get enough rotation and need to introduce a little right leg action (which I learnt from watching a You Tube video of Bryson DeChambeau teaching Kyle Berkshire how to put using this method).

4:23 - reminds me a bit of Mickelson a bit. To me he's set up very much like a chip... which is how I finally worked out my own putting. I was chipping great and putting poorly. Old school teachers like Bob Toski tended to teach that. For me, short putter with heel shaft and bent flat a bit to match how my lead arm hangs. Just like "Lefty" really. Great for feeling the clubhead and pace control. Not sure the whizbang Bettinardi is required, but it's a beautiful head.

Also good to look at the KZbin videos for the BioMech AccuLock putter for ideas on how to putt with this kind of putter. The BioMech is very similar to the PXG prototype that was used by Charl Schwartzl.

Enjoyed the review, though it is a bit dated. I bought the Odyssey stroke lab at 40 inches. It is very different in a good way. my upper body feels more tired after drills with it. But it is so stable and predictable in my hands. Love it.

hi Peter got one of these. put a superstoke long grip on it. I find that it is easier to hold
@Rich206L8 жыл бұрын
Great review Peter. The only bad thing about Berttinardi is that they are prohibitively expensive! Also, would you or Rick consider doing a video, maybe with one of your technical mates on how an amateur golfer, like myself, could check the lie and lofts of our clubs at home? Thanks and cheers, Rich

Along with this putter you might like to have a look at the John Schlee putting video which is also here on KZbin. Might be a good combo

Using an old Rossa with a lose head atm, I have a tendency to de-loft it similar to Mickelson as it allows me gain more feel.... I genuinely would really like to have a go with one of these... I love the idea of locking the putter into my forearm as demonstrated.. Definately a must try for me.. Thanks Peter👍⛳️
@gerrygrabinski70426 жыл бұрын
The 7 degrees of loft coupled with the grip against the left forearm means pretty much a forward press type of look and swing. Agree?

Pete could you please do a review of the Bettinardi BB56 putter. I’m really thinking of putting it in the bag despite the massiveness of the head I probably holed the most putts with it. I’m torn between that an the spider mini

Where do you get these from in England? They seem to only come at 41" which is too long for me.

Been thinking of trying this putter out actually. Any other thoughts on similar putters perhaps to try out on the course ?
@8dragonsx4 жыл бұрын
I suggest watching the KZbin video on Putting by John Schlee. This will give you another idea as to how you might use this putter in the way that Kucher does. The stance he recommends fits very well with the armlock design. Of course, YMMV and my mileage is usually poor 😎

I treat my current putter like an armlock. I’m more consistent and will buy a real armlock putter in the near future.

I can see The Concept on short and middle long putts. But on aggressiv long puts? I dont know. Did you tried it on putts 20 to 30 feet and more, on undolated greens ?

Yes it's been going pretty well tbh feels solid

I've tried this putter yesterday and your comment for me, is spot on. I had no issues with putts of about 10-14 feet - but the longer putts were a challenge. 3 putted everything from 20feet onwards - all of them were just charging thru the hole. Maybe it takes a bit getting used to as it was the first time I used it, but for the shorter putts, they were actually preferrable to my evnroll standard putter.

Any harder to swing/putt with on long lag putts?
@christianmaxwell90388 жыл бұрын
Can you put with the standard grip with that putter? I am not a fan of the arm lock. I grip the club the classic way and am a very feel based kind of person, and this putter seems to offer great feel/results
@TomCooke15128 жыл бұрын
You'd probably present too much loft.

Your hands are so woven together its confusing to a guy who uses the claw grip for putting! Does anyone know if Peter has a video showing how he grips his putter specifically? I think I have watched all his videos from the last year and haven't found one yet! Thanks guys happy golfing!
@joshkailee8 жыл бұрын
Looks like a double reverse overlap. Allows you to get both hand on the side of the putter for a more controlled putting stroke.

Thanks for the review Pete. Given the 7degrees of loft, would putting from the fringe, or just off the green, be easier if you held the putter in a traditional way? This would promote a semi-chip or lofted putt.
@peterfinchgolf8 жыл бұрын
yep could do that for sure
@DN4AGDX8 жыл бұрын
I like it. I could see using this for putts that sit just off green. When you're not comfortable with a wedge the loft of the putter could be an effective chipper.
@joec09148 жыл бұрын
Didn't Bernhard Langer use a similar style when he won the Masters years ago? He actually wrapped his right hand around the grip and his left forearm.

Hey Peter! I often dont get a chance to watch all of your videos in order. I love your reviews but have a hard time keeping track of what you are keeping in your bag. Would it be to much work to put a quick slide at the end of your videos(just review type vids or once weekly) with current witb or something like that? There may be a better system, that could also be a way to keep track of what equipment you have gamed and for how long over time.
@peterfinchgolf8 жыл бұрын
I do WITB every now and again but it changes quite a lot haha

if you call a belly or long putter cheating then what the hell is the difference between the 3. one is anchored to your belly, one is anchored to your chest and this style is anchored to your forearm. no one was leading in any stats for putting using any of these styles, it just made golf more fun for the people that wanted to use these methods.

I still think a golf club should be held in the hands only, after all that is the original idea of golf. Bit of a cop out by the rule makers if you ask me.
@peterfinchgolf8 жыл бұрын
The problem is the club is technically locked to the hands at all times, the argument can be rightly made that locking up the arm is an extension of that
@Cornwall18888 жыл бұрын
Don't understand how it's legal?
@TomCooke15128 жыл бұрын
The anchoring ban is not a change to the equipment rules, any type of putter that was legal last year is still legal. Putting with an 'arm lock' style grip does not create an anchor point as the whole putter still moves freely.
