Bettong Farewell

Jessi and Augusto say goodbye to the bettongs after deciding that they needed to focus on the the mission of Animal Wonders, which is rescuing displaced animals and wildlife education. While supporting captive breeding programs for endangered species is a great cause, Animal Wonders will now have to support that cause from a distance as they focus time and resources on the continuing mission of rescuing and education.

Don't feel bad about crying! My aunt fosters dogs, and no matter what when she finds a dog a new home she sobs when dropping it off. You do it because you know they're doing better things You cry because you wish you could stay with them.

Jessi, it's okay to cry. They're not exactly pets, and not exactly children, but they have been a part of your life and you have cared for them / nurtured them. I'm surely not the only one who would be interested in a quick follow-up in a future video. Doesn't need to be the whole video -Just a simple update, whether they arrived okay, how they are faring in their new homes, how well Dundee gets along with his new mate. DFTBA

Aww Jessi watching this I just wanna give you a hug...saying goodbye to four-legged friends is always so hard even when you know they're going to a good home...no one can doubt how much you and Augusto care about your animals that you do what's best for them and their species even if it's a little heartbreaking for you...you should do an update on how the bettongs are doing in their new homes!

I nearly teared up at the end there. After all the hard work and effort you put into caring for those wonderful animals, to have to say goodbye was incredibly difficult. It was, however, the kindest and wisest thing to do. I'm glad you are able to rescue so many animals and care for them, your work is inspiring and your videos always make me smile.

Brings me back to the good old days of watching that one show where a british animal rescue facility would tell stories about the animals that come in and keep you informed on them. (that might be cool to do; making an update video once in a while on animals with an interesting story/illnes/pregnancy, that kind of stuff)

I'm Australian and I'd never heard of Bettongs before. I looked them up to see all types of bettong are almost entirely exist on the mainland. Australian education seems to have given up on them entirely :(
