The writers wanted to make Barchie endgame they’ve been writing them like that with slow buildup for 4 seasons now but not many people like them together so they are wary and may not want to put them together. Personally I like barchie because they feel so right and bring out the best in one another. Although bughead is a cute ship, they share a brother and their parents are dating, I know the show is pretty weird at times but that’s just a bit too much in my opinion. And Betty and Archie have always loved eachother and shared a special bond in my opinion they are meant to be
