Old toons are willing to go just completely bonkers at the drop of a pen, it's a great attribute of the era. Buildings (with people) can casually spring to life, jump around, talk to characters, drink from an XXX jug, smoke cigars, then just go stationary again. No character raises an eyebrow or indicates it's weird, because cartoon. I like that.

The Little King was a comic strip character. "The LIttle King" Comic Strip lasted from 1930 - 1975, and it has *very* little dialogue; King is not known for speaking in the comic strip, and this one Betty Boop short is the only time I know where he speaks at all.

I remember watching this cartoon on my 30 classic cartoons VHS tape, miss the 90's. Little King was really bored and didn't want to listen to the big hen, so he decided to go out for a night on the town. I used to think those were people screaming in the background when the Queen discovered that Little King was missing. I was surprised that Betty Boop didn't try to talk with the Queen, before she grabbed his majesty by the nose and took him away. If this cartoon has been released today, the Pretzel guy would've marched up the stairs, and beat up Little King for small amount of money he gave him. Either that or Little King would have put up a decent fight and throw Pretzel guy into the crowd.

At Fleischer studios they have a rotating set with small models of houses , trees & buildings. The rotating set was used in the Betty Boop cartoon POOR CINDERELLA & a few other Betty Boop cartoons.🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Fleischer Studios were very innovative in their time. They had something called "Rotoscoping," which is probably part of how they did this; by taking many photos of sets, then tracing them for the cartoons. You can see it in "Popeye Meets Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves," too.

The first singer was a parody of Florence Foster Jenkins, a rather matronly woman who inherited wealth from her late father and a deceased husband. As an operatic patroness, she was allowed to sing at recitals, where she was known to be positively so horrendous that she was good for laughs through her cringe-worthy singing.
