They even remixed songs from black artists and used them the cartoons, and people cheer when betty is a judge,fire fighter, buissness woman. THANK YOU for actually having the media literacy to understand that that is the ENTIRE POINT. I see some kids complaining about old betty boop cartoons and completely missing the plot of them. The Hayes Code didn't start until mid-1934, so a *lot* of movies got made from 1927 - 1934 that would now be rated R. Though I didn't see it outside clips in a documentary, there's at least one movie in that year range about a woman who has a polygamous open relationship with two men.

Your comment makes no sense. This video is still being watched today - is any one flipping out? Look at all the comments here. No one is flipping out, but people are surprised by the sexual assault scene. Most cartoons in the 1920's and 30's were intended for adult audiences. I think what you meant to say is if this cartoon were made today specifically for children, yes, people would be concerned (and rightfully so). Context, context, context.
