I'm so happy she wrote this book! I just ordered it and I can't wait to read it!! Betty Gilpin is the most hilarious and intelligent human person. She sees all the stupid bullshit that goes along with being a "hot girl" and she calls out all of the shitty roles that women have been forced to take in order to work for so very long (not just as a professional actor but as a woman in "modern" society). I'm obsessed with her dark biting take on everything. If people haven't watched her other talk show interviews - do yourself a favor and watch them because she is SO FUNNY. This book is going to be fucking hilarious. And on top of all of this she is an incredible actor! I first saw her on Nurse Betty and have watched everything since. What I wouldn't give to be friends with her and just laugh about all the stupid shit in the world. I hope this book flies off the shelves and becomes a best seller. Her kid is going to grow up with such a smart and funny role model as a mom - very lucky little baby!!

I'm always happy for her, and glad (and jelly) that she's a mom! I hope she keeps getting good work, because I think she's smart and so talented. @blingVolcano2 жыл бұрын
This is what Netflix does. They create a show, and as soon as the viewership dips below a certain threshold, they cancel it, despite the loyal fans still sticking with it. They do not care about artistic integrity as illustrated by them throwing billions of dollars at every project pitched to them in the last 10 years. Netflix is trash, and people should stop pitching ideas to them.

Other commenters here already touched on this to some degree, and I'll add that this exchange is yet another example of how Ms. Gilpin & Mr. Colbert show the potential of this format, even in 2022. Is there artifice--for the camera, the audience, the recording? Of course. Are they presenting 100% themselves here, unfiltered? No, and zero expectation for that. Still, there's a self-aware, wry deconstruction of what's happening in this odd, contrived circumstance; they both lean into it and expose it with humor. I'm continually impressed by the intelligence of this show, of Colbert, and how they push against familiar patterns while at the same time aping them for effect. Cheers!
