I thought that too while watching this. Johnny Carson used to have average folks on his show and it was a joy. He'd have movie stars and music stars too, but also regular folks with an interesting story to tell. The sort of things everyone could enjoy.

Ms Betty King is such an amazing lady. With all the wealth and prestige of being the premier automobile historian/collector, Betty was still gracious enough to present him with two family heirlooms that were priceless. I can see how much it really meant to her to finally get to meet Jay and get her premier ride in her grandfather's original design steam car. It is interviews like this that really makes Jay Leno shine as an astounding human being. He always goes above and beyond for people and makes their dreams come through. The whole world is so proud of you Jay!

Jay, I think there still exists a closed car White, I remember a photo in an old car book of Queen Mary of England being chauffeured about in a 1907 White, and another photo of a restored White Opera touring car (a beautiful car with curved glass windows and a light blue paint job) in American Hammered Piston Ring's photo album of early automobiles. Here it is in Floyd Clymer's Those Wonderful Old Automobiles, page 46,"The late Dowager Queen Mary of England rode in a stately White Steamer in 1907 when she was Princess of Wales (circular photo below).". I would imagine they still have it tucked away somewhere, why not contact them and see if you could have a look? And thanks again for interviewing Betty King, I enjoyed listening to you both reminiscing! My uncle Julius and aunt Margaret had a White gasoline car built in 1912 that they used to take on the old car tours around Michigan, and they both had great fun tooling around in the UP in the White.
