Bea had many idiosyncrasies and was generally a neurotic, eccentric person, as many great talents are, BUT she had every right to not want her face or body immortalized as Dorothy Zbornak.. A character who was made fun of over her physical appearance in almost every episode, which Bea felt was a reflection of how others viewed her in turn. She even had a clause written into her contract for latter seasons, that she be styled differently so as to not appear as a homely spinster all the time. Of course, that exact wording may not have been used, but that was essentially the gist. They changed her hair and makeup, outfits, etc to make her look more attractive from season 4 onward. There were other clauses in the contract like, being permitted to not wear shoes or at most, very thin sandals or flip flops whenever she pleased while filming. You can see this in many episodes lol. I digress, she felt semi traumatized by the constant jabs at her appearance, but being a professional actress, you could never tell she was bothered on screen. It doesn't surprise me why she wouldn't want a life size wax figure of herself dressed as a much less glamorous and homely Dorothy Zbornak.. Bea was humble, but she had style, taste, and was actually fairly attractive, albeit unconventionally, when off set. Shame on Madame Tussauds really, for not offering Bea her own figure ages prior to Golden Girls..

I've seen Bea Arthur's heaven, she's been living in a house exactly like the one in The Golden Girls set. All the things they say about her is true she is a kind and warm person. She said welcome when I sneaked in as if she haven't have a visitor in years. I was so overwhelmed by her hospitality I could really feel it that I said "can I take a rain check?" she understood right away that I'm just curious then I went away. Maybe she just values her personal privacy so much when she was alive.
