They slaughter their calves at “4-6 months???” (16:57 minute mark). That sounds ridiculous, in my novice opinion; is killing calves the norm? I saw another episode with farmers and they said they kill their cows when the cattle turns seven years old. Why kill such young cattle?

If you wait any longer, they're no longer calves.

Dairy producing cattle are farmed mostly for their milk. The young males are slaughtered because they are a bi product of dairy farming.

la tendreté de la viande. Wich is scandalous. I stop eating veal, and lamb, for that.

@@juxbertrand, Thank you. That’s what I thought. Those animals are too young to slaughter, in my opinion.

@@JustAThought155 I totally agree that slaughtering an animal at the age of 4-6 months old is cruel. On the other hand, usual beef, consumed daily, comes from animals between 18-24 months old. A cow has a lifespan of somewhat 20 years. I'm not trying to push an agenda or anything. That's just some piece of information, lots of people are not aware of. Lovely documentary btw. It's always nice to see how everything is better, when people just come together, share food, and care for each other.
