I came here trying to find out why it is important to clean the brewer between batches. I yt'ed "why clean compost brewer" and this was the first vid that popped up, props to you for top ranking on that. "Mature biology to the edge", what does that mean? I guess common sense would tell you to clean "in case" you've grown (blown up) some "bad guy bacteria", you wouldn't want to contaminate the next batch. Did I just answer my own question? Hoping you could clarify your "to the edge" statement and possibly additional thoughts to help me and possibly others. Thanks for the post and I'll check out your channel. I guess we're all on the same page, feed and take care of your microbiology is the answer. Thanks. Also assuming we all should be using rain or un-chlorinated water.

Hey Bill - to the edge means up until it's full to capacity or has consumed all its food, so right before it goes bad (the edge). :)

Hey Matt. I have a professional cleaning service. May I humbly suggest a Libmans microfiber string mop to clean the inside of the containers; if you can't fit in the hole. It is basically a washcloth on a stick.

I'd buy a new toilet brush to get down into the barrel to clean it.

Rock Rose Tauric breaks down biofilms, what lymes disease bacterium uses to protect itself, I wonder if it would have the same action in compost tea...

likely would affect a bunch of things but wouldn't it also favor specifics like lyme disease bacterium and others that use that pathway? Would be a worthy experiment :)
