I'm the musical director of Between The Lions and I scored this segment. The trick was to find something that was iconic Charlie Parker, combine it with original music and make it fit the story. Here, the structure of A Night In Tunisia is different than the original. I had to make room for the dialogue from the book. I also got the show to use actual footage of Charlie Parker. I felt that kids should see the man, himself. It's like doing a show about the Beatles and not seeing them.
