I don't think I ever heard this song until now. As many times as I listened to the George Michael version. I ear you. You feel like a cross between Carol King and Aretha Franklin who I'm pretty sure Mr Michael was channeling whenever he wrote this. I love that James Cleveland piano. Who was known at times to play for Aretha Franklin in church. The style here really sounds like a cross between Aretha Franklin in church and Carol King. Just lovely. That kid dialed in that piano in the fellowship hall sound perfect. Feels like home.
