Jenny you do know that Janis Joplin is not the original singer of this song don't you? Erma Franklin is the original singer... Janis Joplin's version is a cover. Nothing against Janis Joplin because she was cool. But Piece Of My Heart was a SOUL song that was meant to sung like Erma and this woman here... Not screamed 🙂 But Janis recorded this song during the 60's Rock craze so it's understandable that certain people were drawn to it. Again, nothing against Janis because she was fantastic. But THIS is how Piece Of My Heart is supposed to be sung. I hope this little history lesson helped you put things into perspective 🙂

If I hear another 'oh she's so underated comment' I'm gonna be sick! Is there a rating society out there somewhere that looks at her and say's " yep, we will underate her".....I have listened to Aretha Franklin all my life and have most of her singles and in my humble opinion she would struggle against Beverely Knight as I think all of them would.
