It's sad to think how crushed Jed probably was to find out the truth about Drysdale. For 8 years Jed thought Drysdale was a trusted friend then finds out he's a crook who was stealing from him

@@sergiogalindo3024 It was in the interview Jed does with the guy at the end of the movie, Drysdale went to prison for stealing the Clampetts fortune or a big part of it... Jed's words were something like, "I don't bare a grudge against any man, I didn't come out too bad, I lost a little money but Mr Drysdale lost his freedom"

@@jonnaking3054 Raymond Bailey who was the cantankerous Milburn Drysdale died on April 16th. 1980 two weeks before his 76th birthday. He was cremated and his ashes scattered at sea.

@@jonnaking3054 Irene Ryan who played granny passed away in 1973, two years after the show went off the air. Raymond Bailey died in 1980, Nancy Kulp passed in 1991, Buddy Ebson passed away in 2003, Donna Douglas in 2015. Max Baer Jr. Is the only surviving cast member of the show. They had another actor playing Jethro Beaudine being he refused to do the film. The movie recieved low Neilson ratings and this was the only film done.

I remember watching this when it 1st came out. I really remember about it was watching this with my Grandparents they was so not like them, but we was not Rich , just Country Folks ‘’ Cajun’s’’ .

It's not unheard for a parent to outlive their child. Granny outlived her own daughter Rose Ellen. Ppl in the hills back then had kids early alot of times, my great grandmother had a child at 15. So it's entirely possible for granny's mother to be living if she had granny at 14 or 15

I have the DVD. This movie could have been so much better. If Max Baer Jr. had read the script first, I could have understood his refusal to participate. Like many actors, he'd gotten typecast. Linda Kaye Henning noted in the introduction that a writers' strike prevented her father from making any changes to the script. He was a great writer. But this script needed some changes. One person noted that it'd been better to have Granny's sister instead of her maw. The old ladies' home bit was dumb. At least we got to see some of the original actors. Raymond Bailey's widow wasn't happy that he didn't even get mentioned. It was worse in the 90s reunion special. Mr. Drysdale loved money but was no crook. At least Max did that show.

Where was Mrs Drysdale? harriet McGibbons was still alive when this was filmed. Why the hell wasn't Sonny Boy used as the villain, the one who stole the Clampett's fortune and forced Ellie may into marriage....

TBH tv series was comedy gold. This made for tv movie promo, shows the best of this movie. That's not saying much, as it was awful. Too corny, and lacks all the clever cultural misunderstandings, of the original. Bad medicine.

Wonder why Max Baer Jr. didn't appear in this reunion movie? Obviously Irene Rian passed on and unfortunately Raymond Bailey (Milburn Drysdale) passed away the year before but Baer was still alive... and is still alive at the time of this post

There are full episodes here online. Some of the best comedy on tv. Physical humor of all kinds. It also has the feeling of a French farce, with a lot of misunderstandings and shenanigans.

Unfortunately, it should have been. I saw it when it was it was on broadcast television. This movie was awful. TBH was an extremely well written sitcom. A classic, still rightly revered. This movie is dreadfully corny, and written by profiteers. You have been warned.

About the only reunion movies that were any good were the Gilligan's Island movies.Return of the Beverly Hillbillies was the worst.

@@canadianscratcher7834 I thought it was mediocre at best.There were so many discrepancies in it such as no mention of the Cannonball or of the characters from Petticoat Junction.I would have made a reunion with characters from both shows called Return to Hooterville.
