This is why Dylan and Kelly never worked out. She was always jealous of his connection with Brenda even when Brenda wasn't even in the country. I don't know what the writers were thinking when they ended these two together I'm so glad in the spinoff she's a single mother and Dylan continues to reach out and ring Brenda

Kelly and Dylan was all about lust and attraction. Had Brenda not been written out of the show, her and Dylan would have ended up together. Kelly was the substitute for Brenda. Kelly had more of a connection with Brandon.

You are so right! I think had Shannen stayed on the show, it would have been a Dylan/Brenda wedding finale. They had to shove Kelly/Dylan down our throats because Shannen left the show. I never believed in the Kelly/Dylan couple, it was mostly lust and sex, no real true love connection Brenda/Dylan. Dylan never treated Brenda like a sex object and with disrespect like he did Kelly. He didnt respect Kelly at all!. She thought she would be able to take Brenda's place in Dylan heart but she was wrong. She was better with Brandon and had he not left, him and Kelly would have been together and married with kids. They show went south when it lost Brenda and Brandon. I still love the show but definitely skip certain seasons ans episodes.

Agree!!! The writers threw a monkey wrench in the relationship to sever it which was dumb. This was really the only major argument they had aside from the prenup but it was lazily written. Though I loved Brenda with Dylan better, I liked when she was with Stuart to show Dylan that she could move on to someone else too. And Dylan was indeed sweating the whole time Brenda was with Stuart…even going along with that farce with Jimbo (which was undermining and messed up) to try to trick Brenda into breaking up with Stu. To think about it, the writers really screwed this show up. After Shannen left, the show really became unwatchable but when Brandon left, it became the Kelly and Donna show, and it became trash. In comes the Luke Perry and Jason Priestly replacement actors and characters whom we can’t even remember. If you pay attention in the beginning, David was always talking to Donna like she was the dumbest person on the planet. and incredibly mean to her. I felt, even back then, his words were verbally abusive…then through the years he stole, lied and cheated on her, yet it’s these two who they have marrying in the series finale? What a joke! They should’ve done whatever they needed to do to have Brenda & Dylan back at the very end. I always felt that Kelly was a better fit with Steve and Brandon and Andrea should’ve been together.
