Part 2 is my favorite of the three. My only gripe is the lack of special features that was on the DVD but not the bluray or 4K, including the deleted scene and retrospective look back. If you felt this way about the first 2 films, you'll really "love" the 3rd film 😳

I love the first Beverly Hills cop movie, I tried my best to see it in the theatre but was not able to get in since it was a restricted adult movie and I was under age. It was the first movie I ever rented and watched it five times in the 24 hours I had the movie in my possession. I was able to see the second one in the theatre, they handed out a free record of the bob seger single shakedown as you entered the theatre. I don’t really care about special features, I just want the movie. I will definitely pick up Beverly Hills cop 2 on 4K since I have the first one on 4k.
@scaps22002 жыл бұрын
If the special features are only on the Blu-ray disc then it should always be included with the 4K. Part of the benefit of being a physical media collector is to have the option of watching special features.

I appreciate your opinion on this one. However, I always found this movie to be hilarious with good action sequences. I have nostalgia for it though since I watched it as a kid in the 90s. Great kids movie lol haha. Thanks for the video Ken.

I felt similarly. But as time has gone on, COMING TO AMERICA keeps going further and further up, and has probably replaced TRADING PLACES at this point.

Sorry but I have to emphatically and very strongly disagree with you. The first “Beverley Hills Cop” is one of my favourite comfort movies and have lost count the number of times I have seen it. I also think the chemistry works very well between the 3 main characters. I think the first one is an all time iconic 80s classic and we have to agree to disagree.

It's all good Anthony. I totally understand those that love these movies. I just can't personally get into them. Thanks for watching and the comment.

@@midlevelmedia I apologise if my statement was harsh in its tone. I was about 15 when this was released and can remember watching it firstly on VHS in 1985. I guess with me being a teen in the 80s, this movie resonates strongly with me. I respect your view and after all different opinions make the world go round.
@Theomite2 жыл бұрын
I think Part II's weakness is the uneven pacing. You can definitely tell that lots of stuff got cut out and that really truncates the flow. But my love for the first film dwindled when I saw the second one. Tony Scott's style really solidified the proper look and tone for the series, which is definitely 80s. I don't fault you for your opinion, I'm just saying there's very prominent visual signifiers that tilt the second one in most people's favor.

Ken with BHC you would of had to be there I saw 1 & 2 in the cinema and it was a blast it’s certainly a different experience with an audience and Rosewood and Taggart are stooges that’s the main premise they’re ineptitude is what’s funny not them still one my favs. This one for me is a solid 8

48 Hrs. is my favorite Eddie Murphy film. I’d have to go Beverly Hills Cop, Coming To America, and The Nutty Professor after that. Boomerang and Bowfinger were also ones that I enjoyed. I haven’t seen Beverly Hills Cop 2 in a really long time. IMHO, it was an okay sequel. At least, it wasn’t the travesty that was Beverly Hills Cop 3 and it was a better sequel than Another 48 Hrs, Coming 2 America, and The Klumps.

I actually liked the first one a lot. It had a charm beyond just Eddie Murphy. Also people overlook the fact that he was doing this to solve his good friends murder. The 2nd one was a disappointment. A total recycle of the first. No real motivation for him to be involved other than the cheif getting shot. Best scenes were the Playboy mansion and the opening in Detroit. Kinda too much like one...but the chemistry he had over there seemed more real than the plastic Beverly Hills ones...but I guess that's the point. My grade for BHC...B+ My grade for BHC2...C+, only bc Eddie does make us laugh enjoy to enjoy one viewing.

The first movie falls apart in the 3rd act. The height of the action is Eddie Murphy doing a somersault in some dude’s back yard. Tony Scott made the sequel decent.

I loved Beverly Hills Cop when it first came out. Seeing it with audiences at the time, the laughter was infectious. I didn't care as much for the 2nd one. I thought the music in the first film fit the film so much better. Fun fact, Beverly Hills Cop was originally slated to star Sylvester Stallone. He dropped out and it was rewritten for Eddie.

I tried to like this movie after I saw it but the comedy fell flat in most cases and the action was very sparse. The movie just meanders along at a leisurely pace and I didn't care about the plot or the villians. It's not bad. Just okay. Gotta be honest. Maybe I should revisit the first one and see if it's better than the second

2th a nd 3th movie on BD are on my blacklist because the extra's are not taken over from earlier CE DVD's: Part 2: Cast And Crew Interviews Beverly Hills Cop II - The Phenomenon Continues (22:13) Behind The Scenes (7:09) Deleted Scene with introduction from director Tony Scott (3:23) Shakedown music featurette (5:02) Trailer (2:34). Part 3: Cast and Crew Interviews Beverly Hills Cop III - Triple Axel (24:55) Trailer (1:56) That's why i not bought any of two Bluray sets. Only first movie there take over with exeption of Photogallery, but i believe with last boxset there at Music score track and delete scene's to the disc as new extra's. Paramount (Mean released by Paramount/DFW in The Netherlands/Belgium) should make new Beverley Hills Cop Trilogy 4 disc boxset with atleast discs of last set and at missing extra's (include photogallery from the first movie) and new extra's on BD disc. But by prefer make new 3 disc set and updating the discs of 2th and 3th movie with those extra's and more (Like there is making of Part 3 from 16 minutes include bloopers.) including music track for last two movie's also. Lethal Weapon 5 disc boxset from Warner i wait till a lower price too because lack of 2 extra's from 4th movie who are stil missing.
