I always love how Bogomil is obviously warming to Axel (even if he's frustrating the hell out of him) when he tries to cover for Taggart and Rosewood with the supercops story. His little silent chuckle when Axel admonishes them for fucking up a perfectly good lie completely seals the deal.

Fun reaction, Addie. I'm so glad you enjoyed Beverly Hills Cop (1984). Seeing Axel Foley stuff bananas into the tailpipe of Billy & Taggart's car was so bananas. They also made a fun duo, even if they struggled to get through the wall. And Billy saved the day at the end. It's also neat that you were able to recognize Judge Reinhold in this movie, since you've seen him as Neil in the Santa Clause movies. I enjoyed watching this movie and I'm also looking forward to seeing you watch Beverly Hills Cop II (1987) because that movie is directed by Tony Scott, the director of Top Gun (1986).

Beverly Hills Cop put Eddie Murphy on the map as a Hollywood movie star, as he had been mainly known as a comedian and SNL cast member before being cast as Axel Foley. Funny thing is, Sylvester Stallone was originally the first pick to play Axel, and the movie would've been vastly different with him in the role. But he passed on it and Eddie Murphy was cast instead, so the movie was altered to match his more comedic sensibilities. Also, Murphy turned down the role of Winston in Ghostbusters for Beverly Hills Cop. Both movies came out in the same year and ended up being two of the biggest films in 1984, so things definitely worked out well for everyone.

The part when he sees the outlandish red leather outfit and laughs is a call back to his comedy special, "Raw". The foreign character actor in the art gallery later went on to co-star in the ABC hit sitcom, "Perfect Strangers". Actually... The coffee grounds thing is a Hollywood myth. Victor's muscle man murderer is the same actor who played Mike in Breaking Bad.

YES! Eddie Murphy was on fire in the 80's and 90's. Originally Sylvester Stallone was cast as the titular character and he wanted the film to be more darker violent and action packed, as he didn't like the original script or it's comedic tone. He did a rewritten draft and gave it to the producers. When they told him they didn't like it, he quit the production and turned his rejected script into the 1986 action adventure thriller COBRA.

Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) is in the sequels. Reinhold was a solid comedic leading man for a good portion of the 80s who made a big splash in the 1982 teen comedy 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High', a film that put a whole lot of people on the map in Hollywood. He played Brad Hamilton. The cast included Sean Penn (Jeff Spicoli), Jennifer Jason Leigh (Stacy Hamilton), Phoebe Cates (Linda Barrett), Forest Whitaker (Charles Jefferson), as well as Eric Stoltz, Anthony Edwards (Goose from 'Top Gun'), and Nicholas Cage in small roles. You have seen Reinhold in 'The Santa Clause' films. There will be a new movie to this franchise called, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, with Eddie, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton (Taggart), Ronny Cox (Bogomil), Bronson Pinchot (Serge from the art gallery), and Paul Reiser (Jeffrey the Detroit cop "This is not my locker!"), and joining in will be Kevin Bacon and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It will be for Netflix. I absolutely loved Beverly Hills Cop 2, but the third was not my favorite. However, you might just get a kick out of it. Other Eddie Murphy films to see: Trading Places, Coming To America (See Trading first then Coming...there is a special joke in Coming pertaining to Trading!!!), and Dreamgirls.
