In her memoir, did Beverly Johnson say she was having an affair with Arthur Ashe while he was married or that they dated prior to his marriage? I recall her saying they had dated and that’s a huge difference from having an adulterous affair. (I didn’t read her memoir to know if their relationship continued throughout Arthur Ashe’s marriage but I do hope reports of an affair aren’t there in his marriage to Jeanne.) She’s a kind, lovely woman.

I am a black man of a certain age and I have respect for what Bill Cosby meant to my generation however , I don’t think she is lying about Cosby. Cosby’s ego was out of control because of the incredible success and influence he had in the 70s 80s and 90s. I do believe some of the women put themselves in a position to know what was going on with Cosby , or know what might happen with Cosby, but clearly Beverly Johnson was not one of those women. Just because a girl got high, as most people did back then, does not mean they wanted to have sex.

Beverly Johnson is beautiful but Naomi Sims was the first black supermodel it is ashame that society don’t give her credit what credit due. Beverly Johnson and along with Naomi Sims made a at for all black models that came up after them…I never knew that there was so much hatred & jealousy with the models back in the days neither. I get so tired of hearing about the native American and European mixture in African Americans. Why can we not just be handsome or beautiful just because we're black just because of our African heritage in DNA. Why? Iman who was Beverly Johnson's competition she is from the motherland (Africa) and she is stunningly beautiful strikingly beautiful and she's an African so there you have it we're not beautiful or handsome because of our mixture of DNA that's it Beverly Johnson did not have to have mixed heritage or mixed DNA to be beautiful.

However, historians are speaking up "today" 2024, about native Black Americans (original black indians) that were captured, and reclassified as Negro, and enslaved along with the transatlantic African captives! So it's not "cliche" on the mixing designed and/or survival mode!!! It is what it is!

I've always thought of Beverly Johnson as the Mother or all Black 'super'models. ...& she's STILL STUNNING. I'll have to watch ASHANTI. THANK U 🌹

I remember Ms. Beverly Johnson telling the story about her being involved in a round of golf, when she was approached by a young man who mistaken her for being younger & was trying to make his move on her in the moment. It was to his surprise that she happened to be a mature woman in life. His response was, "Excuse me ma'ma!" ⛳️ 🏌️‍♂️

I am 69 she's 72 and she was my first idol. You hear so much about these stars, drugs and abuse that it goes in one ear and out the other, but there would be no Tyra Banks without BJ. She made us all very proud. Surprised to hear Chris Noth was so evil, he starred in all those lifetime movies, never giving a hint of his cruelness. Thanks, for highlighting what I call a real super model. Wishing her continued success.

I was a rather successful model in the 80s & 90s. Very stressful. When I got some recognition..scored commercials & a few covers...chile.... Lots of jealousy.

Unfortunately women of all races have not progressed from debilitating and destructive jealousy, envy and over competitiveness against other women in everyday life and in the work environment, instead of working with and supporting one another, they tear each other down, to their mutual disadvantage.

Firstly, I always loved Beverly Johnson and thought she was so FINE! Secondly, I would LOVE it if you’d break down newly resurfaced former 80s/90s teen singer Tracie Spencer! Her down-to-earth natural beauty and beautiful soprano voice was a standout back in the day (still is lol). ❤️‍🔥

Beverly Johnson, while beautiful, is just one beautiful model of her Era. There was also Wanakee. She is soo beautiful. I don't know why these models are not covered but also Sheila Johnson. She was a popular and beautiful model at that time. You may remember her as the queen's first Lady in "Coming to America" with Eddie Murphy.

Beverly struggled as a runway model, she was too curvy and not tall enough, she was more of a print model, than a runway model.
