And the screenplay authors still held to a different opinion) After Anthonia's death, Dylan spent three years overseas, and the first year was the one he spent with Brenda in London, after which Dylan was bumming around the world, going up to Gimalai mountains etc, never coming back to London anymore. Eventually, he came back to BH, to Kelly, some time in S9. So D&B relationship have been doomed to cease.

@@ales8355 Actually, at the end of season 8 at Brandon and Kelly’s wedding reception when they ended up not getting married, Kelly and Brandon read a letter from Brenda and Dylan expressing their regrets that they couldn’t make it to the wedding because they were in Greece. Brenda and Dylan were still together at that time. So the writers, conveniently rewrote history again to accommodate Luke’s return.

He married Tony because of the adrinaline that comes with being married to the mafia. Dylan was a junkie in every way possible, and when he wasn't using drugs or drinking, he was looking fot thrills in other places. After Tony's death, he kept going back and forth between Brenda and Kelly - we know he and Kelly have a son together, Sammy (it's mentioned in 90210's first season) and we know after he left California after Tony's death, he went straight to London to Brenda. Spent many years there. Came back there after his son was born. So he kept driving the girls crazy for many years to come
