She wasn't crazy. She had a mental disorder that she clearly wasn't seeking treatment for. Once she did she was a completely different person and was doing much better. Not excusing her behavior because plenty of people have mental disorders and aren't prone to violence. But she wasn't psychotic or evil.

I remember feeling such anger at Emily's betrayal and manipulation toward Brandon, but then falling back in love with her character in season 4 when Brandon sees her in San Francisco. I loved their relationship at that time.

...YOU KNOW...looking back, I think Emily was the 1st troubled Girl (in 90's TV) that actually wasn't 'troubled'; Christine Elise ("Emily") indicated numerous times, that her character inspired MANY Teens to accept their 'quirks', & embrace the 'difference' in themselves...90's TV was showing that more, but unfortunately (w/ the U-4-EA 'spike' of Brandon's drink), 'Emily' got the CUT..(0:13) ...

I totally agree!!!! Emily was NOT troubled!!!! She was a strong support to Brandon Walsh, and had so much love to give from her tremendously caring heart and soul’s energy. Emily came from a broken home, and only needed the guidance of strong, loving family support system, like all teenagers do, to succeed in life and love. Nobody in her family took care of Emily; she basically had to raise herself, and grow up ⬆️ way before her time. Brandon should have forgiven her, and given her a second chance. She was so, so genuinely sorry for spiking his drink, and actually totally regretted it, the minute the did it. This is an old tv trope. If characters in a tv show are eating dinner, none of them are actually eating. Maybe one or 2 bites tops in a 5 minute scene but overall, no one eats.
