...The writers at IT, Once again....making Kelly and Dylan (understandably) not interested in College (1:39), yet making Brenda nag about it...(2:48) only to make them look more 'unified', and have more in common....which, would make THEM a better Couple.... Shannen REALLY couldn't catch a break, couldn't she!?? (3:28)
@kleeamd827411 ай бұрын
It's called conflict & drama. Without it, most shows would be a snooze fest. Furthermore. Brenda's nothing but an overbearing, controlling nag. Dylan can barely pop a squat without getting Brenda's approval first & she turns everything into either an argument or a crying jag. They can't go 5 minutes without her finding something to fly off the handle about.
@blpalv1511 ай бұрын
@@kleeamd8274I agree. For years on soap opera they did that to power couples. The sparks would fly, they would get together, get married, and then the writers didn't know how to keep them interesting. So they threw in a conflict or broke them up.
@kleeamd827411 ай бұрын
@@blpalv15 EXACTLY!! It happened on Moonlighting, once the 2 romantic leads finally got together, the show failed as there was no more "will they or won't they?" sexual tension to add excitement. Same with Dean Cain & Teri Hatcher on Lois & Clark - as soon as Lois found out Clark was Superman & they decided to be together, once again, all the excitement was gone. Very few shows survive once the romantic leads are allowed to be together & live happily ever after. It kills all the chemistry That's why fans of Gone With The Wind still are left begging for more. Rhett & Scarlett had all the chemistry & sexual tension but they never were able to reach each other & make a go of it. And when he walks out at the end, the viewer is left perpetually wondering: WILL THEY OR WON'T THEY?? If there's no "will they or won't they" involved, it's a snore.
@lnicole250411 ай бұрын
Yeah, but remember in season four, Brenda is the one who lost interest in college, and it was she and Dylan that convinced each other to go, and Kelly became the nag about it. LOL There was always a twist.

Brenda/Dylan have a great relationship, probably the best in the entire series...but I'm glad they broke up. Particularly from Brenda's point of view. Brenda had a great last season, with her return from Minnesota, her hesitation to continue her studies, her job with her father, her escape with the super rich guy, the ransacking of the laboratory and especially the last intrigue with Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Amidst all these adventures, Brenda's friends and her brother acted like assholes to her... except Dylan, who remained a loyal friend. Sometimes powerful things appear even better when they're absent, and that's what happens in season 4 with Brenda and Dylan: they're not a couple, but their bond is more powerful than ever.

The production did that on purpose, it was meant to keep the audience interested. They knew Shannen was living for good at the end of the season, by keeping Brenda and Dylan still a thing (although on different terms) until the very end, was a trick to keep the audience wondering if she would ever come back to be end game with Dylan, to keep them guessing.. it was a smart decoy to keep the most loved character, Brenda, in the audience’s collective mind wondering if she would ever come back despite the fact that she was gone
