Thank you for reviewing this I was looking to purchase this run. I will get my husband to build one instead,🥰 I loved your presentation!

Thank you, we were quite dissapointed with the quality of the package. No doubt your husband can build a far superior run for your birds.

I ordered mine with a dome roof, going to use hardware cloth and a bigger tarp, I cant wait! Thanks for the great video! This is perfect for a greenhouse too

How much money was it in total
@SunshineCountryChickens7 ай бұрын
@@mikeoxlong920 The prices fluctuate I think I paid 229$ for the 29ft run, $139 for 100ft of hardware cloth, $40 for a tarp, and 4 t posts at each corner for anchor. Metal zip ties $7 for 100, landscape staples to pin the hardware cloth apron down

@@SunshineCountryChickens are you doing meat birds
@SunshineCountryChickens7 ай бұрын
@@mikeoxlong920 No this is for my egg layers I will have for many years. I dont do meat birds but the smaller one would easily convert to a tractor if you want to do meat birds and be able to move it to fresh ground

We are building one but used hardware cloth instead of the green mesh. Will repurpose the green thing for veggie trellis 😮
@ourkilkennyhomestead20066 ай бұрын
That's a much better material to use. To be honest I don't think that green stuff would even hold veggies.

So I bought one off the Facebook marketplace dirt cheap. Because I knew I was going to put more money into it but needed the frame. I used Hardware cloth from Amazon. I used heavy metal straps that came with the tool. The problem with zip ties when they get hot and cold they get brittle or bright. And the other thing I did was took a 4 * 8 piece of pressure-treated plywood. Cut it for the roof so water wouldn't get up there because there's no pitch. And one other thing I did was take porch sealant and slapped it on and it's been doing good.

They have better quality ones. I was just given 2 by a friend. They have used both for 3 years. The tarps are still in excellent condition. They were wise enough to purchase the sloped roof ones. I would never buy one with a roof like yours. They received real chicken wire with theirs that require wire snips to cut. These pens are intended to be used as a run not a secure coop. I set my little coops inside the run. The chickens get locked up nightly in the coop. The runs are only used during the day. I'm extremely happy with the model I have.

Our have made it through three harsh winters, came with coated wire and a split doors with nice latches, also came with wire to wrap around the poles and fence to secure it, and tatp was nice and thick. Those nails are for a wood base frame, not a product issue that is your issue. And yes it is the vevor brand. So you either their quality went way down or you just bought the cheapest you could because mine is 3 years old and have not had an issue. Off amazon.

Yeah. I don't expect much for $200. With modifications it could be decent. But the cost to do so, you might as well build yourself.

Is the frame sturdy enough to use it as a easy go hoop house-green house?

Possibly, however the budget vinyl greenhouses on ebay are considerably cheaper.

Having just had an attack from a pine marten, it's disappointing to see the gap between the door and frame. Will stay away from this brand. Thanks for the video.

I purchased the larger Poultry house by the same company. It gets a 4 star on the website, so I thought I would try it. I have cancer and was going for something secure and quick. My Review here. I gave the packaging a 0. All items were just thrown in the box. The nails? Just throw in .... I had to straiten some of the supports because the metal was tweaked and bent. So I couldn't snap it together. The green covering is very sad, so I just placed an order for hardware cloth. The door works for me as I'm small, but a larger framed person would struggle. I'm having to change things on the door so its secure, but this is a sad excuse of a door. We are rural and have raccoons, this out of box wont protect the chickens. I should have just built my own from scratch. It would've been cheaper and nicer. You live and learn. Lol! Learn from us, folks 😂😂

That's terrible to hear. This product should be pulled from sale as its totally misleading. Live and learn definately. Thanks for watching the review.

Good to know. I have to make a custom short one I need to build. The city here odd enough the home to Tyson chicken plants is anti chicken for most of the people who live here. Looking for solutions for a few backyard hens when I replace the fencing. The enforcement guys don't care about the hens, just roosters as the actual ordainces are poorly written and thought out.
