Agreed. I mainly switched to hard goods, like Warren Buffet. First I paid off my mortgage, truck, all debt. Did a few home repairs, turned my root cellar into a bed/sit combo, nuclear shelter/cold storage. Decent without heat/ac. I already preserve my garden. Only then invested in hard goods stocks. I am not Warren Buffet after all. I am just a nobody, but nobodies survived rich people's crashes for thousands of years. I will too.

Actual money has had nothing to back it since 1971. Not gold or anything else. The numbers (your balance) that you see when you look at your account are just inputted numbers. They are not even backed by real cash. It's all the same thing, imaginary currency that requires faith to mean anything.

NO ONE in their right mind, who served in the US military would ever place a flag on a flag pole in that matter, unless they were requesting help to be freed. Any upside down flag of any nation, branch of military service usually indicates there is a serious problem occurring, and assistance is needed. In the case of Alito, we hope the US Senate will “help” him out the door!

Dr. Lina, Crypto to me IMHO is like I walk outside and put pebbles from the driveway in Tupperware and call it currency. I would go to my bank like the poor old lady that bought the "yeti" dollars and tried to exchange it for money. Same feel same grift. I knew someone trying to run a business on crypto, I told her the same thing, she says we made our own coins I said well I didn't make the pebbles, but I could take a larger rock and a hammer and say I made it myself. Yes, call me old fashioned but you can't call me a victim or stupid. Just saying.

Crypto is not backed by any government that I know of. That said, it is exchanging something for something. People use it to avoid taxes, that is, to avoid the government knowing what they buy or sell. So if there were a way to track or regulate it, then, at least in the United States, and strictlly theory on my part, would fall under barter rules for taxation. So then...not sure of what use it would be anyway. The value is like stocks in that its worth what a person says its worth (willing to buy or sell it) in an arms-length transaction. Yet, there is nothing to back it.

As far as I'm concerned, crypto is even less than Monopoly money because you can at least touch and hold Monopoly money to play the game. Crypto is like playing a virtual game of monopoly, except when you lose, it's REAL money!!
