Nothing short of magnificent from George Harrison. One of his very best.

Excellent. Thought I knew it but now I realize it sounds better with the open chords mixed in! Boy what a genius Harrison was. Few realize how amazing that he was able to make a melody so seamlessly fit these key modulations. Not to mention the slide solo. What an ear!

Excellent take on Harrison's most haunting -- and prescient-- composition. And a brilliant guitarist he was and remains. You've done him justice, note for note: FINALLY, an online guitar tutor who understands Harrison's leaving (far) behind the pentatonic bottleneck slide solo for a chord-tone conceptualizing, fusing Indian classical and American country Jazz elements and urban blues to the measure: Ravi Shankar meets Tal Farlow and Elmore James, and yet comes out Our Sweet George. As to the overlooked lyrics: one notes that this this morning, the Right-wing Supreme Court opined from the bench that holding to legal account a president who incites an insurrection to end American democracy is more a "threat" to the "peaceful transfer of power" than the conspirator's attempted insurrection, George presciently responded All Those Years Ago: "Watch out now, take care Beware of greedy leaders They take you where you should not go While Weeping Atlas Cedars They just want to grow, grow and grow Beware of darkness" Indeed, George, indeed.

This tutorial is outstanding. I've watched lots of "how to play X song on guitar" over the past 15 years, and this is near the top: the content is laid out well and easy to understand, excellent presentation, notes, and the tone and delivery of the teacher's voice. I've always wanted to nail this song and i feel confident i can crush it thanks to this video. Cheers!

Hey, Howard, it's Rich from the future (relative to this lesson). The other day's lesson on John's #9 Dream led me here. Thanks for both.

This is so good. I even hear parts of Baby Blue on here from Badfinger.
@247GuitarwithHowardHart2 жыл бұрын
Yes... George Harrison was key in those Badfinger tracks. It's my understanding that he played slide, sang background, produced etc... Baby Blue and Day After Day seem to have his "touch" for sure.

Just curious. I've seen many of your videos and I'm wondering if that guitar you use is a Fender or a PartsCastor. It looks much like mine which IS a partscastor made from a Solo Kit. The actual Fenders I've seen, you don't generally see the wood grain as they are painted.
@247GuitarwithHowardHart2 жыл бұрын
Hi - It's an American Fender Telecaster... Standard
