To be honest I rather be in a class by myself when it comes to sound system and sound equipment and quality because it’s a headache being around other sound guys they want everyone sound to play and sound like their sound when everybody wants their sound to sound a certain way every sound engineer have different ears back in the day we didn’t have any of this technology and we sounded better and heavy than these new wave sounds

I agree with some of what you say, we use the term sound engineer too loosely these days. However, there is a lot of people with equipment (sound) who don’t have a clue on the basics much less tuning. So in my opinion if you have some knowledge and experience why not help those that want it. After that like you say, seek other “engineers” to get a different ear.

I built the system for Limelight Tunnel Paladium Webster Hall Twilo and many recording studios theres no one way to do shit. The elements materials architecture empty room vs 2000 sweating bodies speaker focus thats what helped me tune and ringout venues all over the world. Stadiums Arenas suck amphitheaters 50/50 festival outdoors wind blows your sound away 😂 everyone protect your ears and dont send people to the doctors cause you can't mix a salad or a system😂 👉🏼👀💨

I didn't write the book on sound. I did read the manuals, theory, etc to get the best headroom with the best signal to noise ratio. Yes, it is a balance between noise and headroom. The best known practices is a book all by itself. If you can't do gain structure, it's time to go back to school. Every thing depends on proper gain structure. A big industry problem is the way Watts are published in the sales literature. I'll give you an example using a name brand. Old amps used to be rated in RMS Watts per channel, both channels driven at a low harmonic content, eg 0.01 THD distortion level. Newer amps are rated in Peak Power. Dig deep in the spec to find the meaning is total peak power at something like 10% THD. A 2 channel 250 watt RMS per channel amplifier has un-distorted peaks for a sine wave 1.414 times higher than the RMS value per channel. This makes that same 250 Watt RMS amp amplifier a 355 Watt amp per channel, and both channels total peak is 710 Watts peak power at 0.01% THD. Drive it into 10% THD, and now that 250 Watt amp can be advertised at 1KW Peak, all channels driven. Sounds impressive, but still the same amplifier. If you are dealing with "15KW" amplifiers, and they run on 120 Volt power, consider a typical hair dryer at 1600 Watts is about the maximum allowed for a 20 Amp circuit. That "15KW" peak power amplifier is drawing less than 1800 Watts on a 20A breaker. Think about the fact the output of an amplifier is always less than the power in. Some of the power in is converted to heat and not sent out the speaker terminals. In large concert equipment, there are amps and speakers that are a couple KW each and require either a 30 amp circuit each in a line array, or 15A on a 240- volt circuit. This is stuff you roll in with a forklift and are flown with a powered chain hoist. This is not stuff you load into a van.

@isettech I understand your comment, but here is the big difference with older transformer amplifiers and today's powerhouse 1 space amplifiers it's called there using 100's of Capacitors to achieve these high wastages so they don't relate to the transformer or tube amplifiers when it comes to mass wattage output. Thanks 👍🏽 ✅️ 🔊

IF A SPACE HEATER RUNS AT 1500 WATTS ON A 20 AMP CIRCUIT YOU WOULD NEED A 200 AMP CIRCUIT TO RUN THAT AMP THAT SUPPOSEDLY IS 15000 WATTS TO FULL POWER ...SO A RACK OF 10 WOULD NEED TO USE 2000 AMPS TO RUN THEM AT FULL POWER USING 20 AMP CIRCUIT BREAKERS....WHO HAS THAT KIND OF POWER SUPPLY AT THEIR RESIDENCE TO PRACTICE SOUND SYSTEM SET UP

@Frances-z5h understandable if these where transformer amplifiers but this is the new age of Capacitor digital amplifiers they deliver power from low amperage or voltage.
