Dick York's Darrin was never that rude towards Sam. I've always preferred York's performance. Sargent's just irks me to no end. Come, Endora, come!

That was Dick Wilson. He died at 91 years of age in Hollywood in the year 2007! Ironically, he outlived every other actor on the show (except for Tabitha) He was in many episodes where he played a drunk in a bar. I think he’s in the first episode where darrin meets a Samantha and darrin is in a bar.

The writers make these people rather disagreeable. Sam isn't forthcoming about the bedwarmer until it attacks Darrin. Darrin is upset with Sam's reticence and responds negatively to everyone. Endora insults both Darrin and the warlock. The bedwarmer attacks Darrin and attaches itself to Sam despite Darrin's objection. Let's call the whole thing off.
