If you are thinking out buying omni pouches as an alternative for wild camping, or fishing expeditions etc, these can be a great way to use your bergen without the wide load worry of the rocket pouches. Also featured is the Virtus 3 litre zip on hydration sleeve, seen side by side with the more traditional Camelbak bladder. i have a virtus H yoke and have sewn an extra zip on to it so I can use both virtus and PLCE pouches on it Love the videos They have helped me modify a Berghaus Centurion bergan for camping and also a set of webbing. Though your sewing is much neater than mine Keep the videos coming

if you carry a bladder on the side of the pack its super important to balance the other side of the pack out, ive made the mistake of trying to hike with and unbalanced pack and it was a nightmare. Often i carry a 3L camelbak horizontally across my belly, which i find works really well.

I'm not a fan of bladders at all. Like you I prefer the water carry on the front, albeit mine is a chest rig using a 2 quart LRRP US pat. On saying that my civvy packs seem to handle a badder a lot batter that mil spec bergens...But as we both know water belongs in 58 bottles on webbing for current serving crows, but is a little overkill for a long week end R & R in the wilds....Thanx for watching, keep safe Bex

Not seen those side omni pouches before they look like a good option. I just bought a Dutch army Lowe Alpine sting 80, very similar to the short back plce but is far more ergonomic, I’m really impressed with it. Those omni pouches should fit it too. But do they come in dpm Bex?

Bought a dutch lowe alpine myself really impressed with it. Got mine for £45 with side pockets. Fitted 80 litres into it. Was heavy on my back etc. Glad of the padding and molle on that lowe alpine was more comfortable to wear. 👍🏻

Hi Bex - you mentioned the capacity of the 90 pattern PLCE rucksack. The 90 pattern fitting instructions are available on the GOV website - here is the link: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/423293/20150420-FOI2015_03859_PLCE_enclosure1.pdf This confirms what you said - the capacity of the rucksack is 75 litres, with the pouches added, "over 90 litres". No mate...Don't put it in your washing machine, if will f##k up the machine. Take it out and scrub it with a stiff hand brush, using soap and water. Then hose it down, and hang it up side down on a line. If your in ATC tie it in the drying house...bex

Because it’s a 1 to 1 copy they will fit any pouch with the plce zip unfortunately as highlighted in the video the virtus pouches won’t

hi bex whats the brand of 1Lflask you had with the built in safe style sip lid in one of your cold night hammock videos not the mug in this video , I have been looking all through your video library to find the name of it was it a CONTIGO or something else , I see lots of 560 / 720 ml mugs/flask but not the tall slim one you had AS YOU SAID IN THAT VIDEO ONCE FILLED IT WILL LAST YOU ALL NIGHT and so saves fuel on the gas stove , thanks .

I think it was a run they had at Tescos supermarket. The silicon seal ended up perishing, but I did use it daily for months. It seems that line has been stopped and replaced with the 750ml, which I also have, (not bad, but not as good as the 1000ml) I will check which one I am currently using, and get back to you...

Have you not got one of the PLCE medic side pouches? They seem far larger than 10l. It's really crappy that Virus and PLCE are not compatible, more like a sales technique than anything else.

I'm not a field medic mate, so my trauma kit is adapted for one (me) and is a lot smaller than you may think. In my experience the more kit a person carries, the less likely they are to know how to use it. I only carry 3 elements of kit inside my pack always (shelter insulation and a cook set) Sundries an trauma in top pocket. But the 90 pat zip on field medics pack, is huge to adapt for other functions, I hope I find one to complete my 90 pat collection soon....Ps I don't know f##k all about fishing, so would buy far too much fishing kit...lol

Cool reviews - but it's 2023 - please invest in some 4K recording gear - the quality seems 720p - today it;s kinda sub-standard. Aside this - top notch.

FYI This was filmed 2 years ago, since then film in 1080p (do your home work). #2 I don't make money making videos, so if it bothers you so much you can donate the cost of a new camera using the Thanks Icon...lol
