She's performing african choreographies and narrating visions of the past. She dances around sugarcane crops, shying away from those Orleans chateaux where they were slaves and by the night as if she were hunted down after escaping from slavery. She reflects freedom through body language and singing. This video is a jewell as she portraits herself very valiant and proud of her african roots whilst she's overcoming historical background! Beautiful woman!!!

Crazy how people tried to boycott this video when it was first released. Now folks are screaming about how it's a masterpiece. People kill me. I've been rocking with Beyonce since 1996 when nobody knew who she was. And this song continues and will also be a bop. Period!

She's not overrated, she's perfectly rated or underrated. Because we never have and will never have another Queen B, she's one. Her numbers in charts and followers on Social Media are crimely undderrated.
@marzi84565 ай бұрын
There will be others, but she can definitely retire knowing she did the damn thing and "left no crumbs" lol. I think she didn't BLOW UP (talking Michael Jackson, Beatles) because people already expect greatness from black performers, especially women. Dancing, singing, beauty, longevity in black culture is taken for granted. There's other reasons too, a little more critical, but without a doubt she knocked it out the park.

Not even being able to just walk down the street without people gawking at you. Living clouded in flashing lights and seas of people. Seeing your face and hearing your songs everywhere. Having everything you could ever want and more. That is her life, and it's crazy because she's just a human. She lives like a goddess but she's just a girl.
