+thecla alexis How is telling other women to bow down to you a feminist song? In the song when the lady was talking, she said that a woman is taught to never get to the same level as a man or it might offend him (something like that), but in one of beyonce's verse she says this is my shit so bow down bitches. The same way that the men tell women that they can't do the same thing as men, she basically told women that they can't do the same thing as her.

Caitlin Amelia Because if you don't clarify "equal RIGHTS and opportunities", nutcases say women are the weaker sex, when it goes unchallenged, girls grow up internalizing it, raising their daughters thus, another spin in the cycle. Get this: I worked in an Oil&Gas corporation. Saudi Aramco was a client then. They had a prayer room for arab muslims. Implied here is muslim men. How do I know? The sign on the door said "Dear brothers [take your shoes off etc]". I went there to meditate because I could. I'm a chick so they can't come in the room until I'm done. and because of their hiring practices, I'm the only female "muslim" who was interested in using the room for meditation. They had a dozen or so books on a shelf. I pulled one out at random and turned an arbitrary page. I kid you not, this is what it said: "We [muslims] believe that men and women are spiritually equal, and women's role is at home." Well ain't that great for me to be your spiritual equal because if you muslim men are wrong you're not fucked, I'M FUCKED! Out of education, pursuit of any kind of talent, ambition..

What a great comment that's why there is no love in relationships anymore and divorce rates are so high cause people run around preaching their own independence and worried about themselves rather than the children that suffer from broken households this new world sucks you can be strong and independent woman without having to teach the young psychologically it makes them not be able to be in love fully so don't be surprised when this world goes to complete crap because women are too busy preaching rather than doing! Divorce rates are at their highest and you got a woman saying how you don't need a man really smart this is the world we live in I would never get married again And quite honestly don't wanna be married now because of all this crap!

Ok I see a lot of stupid comments and I'm just gonna clear up a couple of things. Feminist: A person who believes in social, political and economic equality of the sexes. Please be reminded. Its EQUALITY OF THE SEXES. Feminism isn't about hating on men. Its isn't about women getting everything and enslaving men. NO. Its about stopping the double standards between men and women and allowing both men and women being equal. When she said "bow down bitches" she didn't ask men to bow down. She sang that part for her stupid haters who constantly waste time hating and dissing on her.
@chiefsoulc840510 жыл бұрын
They are either extremelly stupid or just trolling., or they don't like the idea of women speaking up. Otherwise, why would they be upset at Beyoncé for singing a song that includes that speech? Maybe their ego it's just too fragile and they're extremelly insecure idiots.
@gisellefendi579310 жыл бұрын
Rocío Tomlinson Exactly. I've always been proud to be a feminist and I thought it was universally something that was a good thing but so many people are saying things like "feminists are bad" or "feminists are stupid". I never thought that wanting gender equality was something bad.

Well, I'm a guy and I do believe in feminism, but you cannot have equality in ALL things so please stop saying that. I get that there may be more guys CEO than girls and this can/should/would be changed but there are also more guys working in constructions, in waste disposal, in mines and things like that. Don't women want equality there also?

You see.. This song speaks to US, we who have outworked everyone else and are at the top of our game. We constantly experience jealousy, haters, backstabbers, people we do everything for go out of their way to tear us down because it makes them feel better to see us fail. Because they wish they were us and know they never will be on our level. It kills them to see us win. The people who got mad about this song are THOSE jealous ones because they can't relate to what it's like to be a successful, hard-working, flawless BOSS A** B****!

I have chosen this song for our class playlist to demonstrate how females throughout the music industry have utilized their voices to empower other women. Researching how female artists have impacted and redefined music through feminist action and empowerment, Beyonce's song '***Flawless' is the perfect example. Included in this work is the speech "We Should All Be Feminists" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie surrounding the narratives in Africa (1:26 - 2:21). Her words are spoken with power, discussing the sexism and harassment girls of her culture face. Furthermore, she encourages other females to be strong, independent, and proud of who they are and what they can accomplish. The popularity of this piece has communicated how strong the messages behind Beyonce's music are. In fact, over twelve thousand people have verbally expressed how empowered Beyonce makes them feel, and I couldn't agree more.
