One on hand, yes! But also on the other one - it may be a total opposite, aka: valuing yourself and highlighting the other party's ignorance and lack of appreciation, aka calling them out for being a hypocrite ;) That's how I saw this song for example having the 'cheating' in my mind (meaning the one in their relationship); also, a 3rd side: it can also kind of highlight that even if you're ENOUGH on your own ("so damn easy to love") - you still can feel insecure - and I feel like this connects both the first (yours :) ) and the second interpretation. :) So yeah, I feel like it speaks all the three simultaneously. :D

I'm no Beyonce but I can relate. I think a lot of women can. Most of us try so damn hard in our relationships with little effort or notice coming from the men in our lives. Once men are comfortable they don't think they ever need to try again and they don't even get the slightest bit insecure about what they bring to the table like women do. If a woman gains weight or doesnt dress the way she used to, she at least feels bad and insecure and struggles to gain her old self back for her husband. A man can stop helping with the chores and kids, lose his job, gain weight and all kinds of shit and never 2nd guess his security in his marriage bc men already feel entitled to anything they want and women are so forgiving. You'll never see a married man flipping through magazines trying to find out how to please his wife. He might have looked some things up during the first few months of dating to try to impress her and keep her around but it doesnt last long and it never comes back. But a wife of 20 years will still be searching for new ways to make her husband happy in hopes it will make him want to put in some effort for her in return.
