This performance was an ode to HBCU marching bands. She basically turned her performance into a HBCU homecoming. She sings the national black anthem (lift every voice and sing) then transitions into formation. SUPER IMPORTANT when you know what you’re looking at and what she’s doing.

THIS IS THEE BEST BEYONCÉ PERFORMANCE IVE EVER SEEN!!! I LOVE BEY! But at times I feel she focuses more on the performance aspect more than the actual music...which is entertaining as hell still BUT THIS PERFORMANCE IS PERFECT! I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED MARCHING BAND! DRUM LINES, STEP TEAMS, J-SETTING, MAJORETTE, ALL THE HORNS, ETC IT WAS ALL INCREDIBLE!!! I wish Beyoncé would do an entire album inspired by this type of music! It would be fantastic! I love her music don’t get me wrong but Lemonade was not my jam though it was really beautiful with the visuals and the messages were really important but I can’t wait for what’s next!
