I get the point you guys make about AOTY. But our biggest issue is that a black female artist hasn’t won that category since 1999. And the competition she lost to didn’t make since. Adele knew that Beyonce should’ve won. Even last year when Sza lost, we were upset because literally everyone was streaming SOS. But CC is literally AOTY worthy

It's political, and I'm not about to play politics with my art. But we'll see. The Oscars became irrelevant to me when Angela Bassett didn't win for Wakanda Forever (nor the lady for Everything Everywhere All at Once) but Jamie-Lee Curtis did. Like, are they serious? So, don't even play that game, I say. But I do get wanting to be recognized by one's peers.

The Grammys may feel obligated to award her with AOTY, AND she'll deserve it at the same time. Both things can be true. This album is clearly AOTY worthy, that's why she and her fans will be happy and satisfied if she wins. IF the album was unworthy and they just gave it to her due to pressure, then the win would be unsatisfying. But that's not the case, so hopefully, she'll finally get what she deserves.

If Beyonce wins AOTY next year I definitely won't see it as a forced win or consolation prize from the Grammy's. Because as a black woman you cannot tell me that in the last 22 years Beyonce has never deserved to win that award, but Taylor Swift has won FOUR times??? Puhleeease...🙄🙄 No it will be the Grammys awarding Beyonce for this outstanding genre-blending album as well as righting a wrong of bypassing her too many times when she should've rightfully won. But I'm sure they'll probably award Taylor's mediocrity once again...😒 And trust me certain people will always find a reason to dislike or not celebrate Beyonce as a brilliant artist or as a person. So who cares if those people don't celebrate her AOTY win if she does win. They weren't going to celebrate anything Beyonce does... I'll definitely be turning cartwheels & cheering for her when she wins because she's more than earned that award already!

☝🏾...ALL THIS RIGHT HERE!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 If I could give you a thousand likes, I would. Especially about Queen of mediocrity winning 4 times after one of those judging voters made a whole speech about how Bey and Adele have so many wins and that it's only fair that some other artists should be looked at..and blah, blah, blah. But then turn around and give it to Taylor 4 times. The Industry has been salty at Bey for changing the game, making her own studio production company, dropping an album without any advertisement companies backing her, once she left her old record company. They were bitter that she didn't fail. They love to give her the "Urban" awards, like they do so many black artists, because they want them reminded of where they think they belong. Ever since Ts switched genres she's had endorsements thrown at her, that took Bey years to get and that's race politics with the industry. Daddy Lessons should have BEEN up for a country award. People put Taylor's mediocrity on a pedestal and says she's the best biggest selling superstar and is on par with Michael Jackson. I tell them, A. She can't even see that high in the sky at what level MJ was on..nor the same skill levels of Beyonce. 2. Taylor cuts and pastes Beyonce's aesthetics. How embarrassing was it that she practically tried the "high school version" Beychella, shortly after Beyonce did Coachella. I mean she even copied her trade mark stance with the mic and how she opens. Now she's wearing sequenced body suits on tour like Bey did several tours ago. I mean if you are going to use someone else's aesthetics at least change it up so there's some "YOU" flare in there. 4.She's been working on the trademark Beyonce catwalk strut, too. 5. Her music gives me Kidz Bop tease and her singing gives me glorified Kareoke singing with autotune. 6. And to answer why she may have more sold out concerts, she is the ideal Anti Beyonce. To say politics and race don't play a part in it is to lie. The majority of her demographic looks like her, and thanks to generations of other demographics wiped or thinned out, they are the biggest demographic in the world. Around the world, especially in countries that have a colonized warped mind, (white Blonde hair, blue eyes and thin)or light will always be preferred over black and female. The people in the black community that hate on Bey are quick to cosign anybody opposite her, just because. 7. Does Taylor have some catchy tunes, yes. ..Very few for me, but that's spread out here and there. And none of it sounds Aoty worthy. Sorry, not sorry. Beyonce IS known around the world, but unless the fans are making demands to get her invited to tour in their countries, she'll never get to play in those places, like Taylor can...even still in this day and age. 8. Bey does nearly 3 hr tours, and now Taylor is going for 3.5 hrs.🙄 Taylor switched out of country without even an eyelash bashed or uproar. She had too much competition in country music to get that chance to be where she is now. The ladies of country don't play that pretend singing. Carrie Underwood, alone, is a beast with a mic and a spotlight...js.

It's the same situation with best actress for the Oscars, Halle Berry is the ONLY black woman to EVER win. There's only been 3 black women in the history of the Grammys (Natalie Cole, Whitney, and Lauren Hill) to win AOTY. The major award shows do not want to award black women in the lead category, plain and simple. We are only worthy of runner-up wins in their mind. For the longest time, the Grammys has gotten away with covering this up by awarding Beyonce, the biggest black female artist in decades, with wins in any other category possible. But attention is finally being brought to it, which is likely the only way to bring about change. The Oscars pacify black women with supporting actress wins and best actor to black men every now and then. It's ashamed that this pattern has yet to change for each award show.

If you listen to Alligator Tears while looking at the lyrics, then you'll realize that Beyoncé is directly addressing the racist white people within the country scene "crying" and complaining about her not being country. The song name is coined from the common term "crocodile tears," which means fake tears. They're complaining about Black people entering a space that they originally created, hence her saying they're "alligator tears," and her saying she adores their alligator tears because they're ignorant and they look silly for not even knowing the origins of the genre. Those same people are acting like their precious space is being taken away from them or almost defiled by her very presence while, in the same breath, berating her, tearing down Black people, and being dismissive of their contributions to country music.

Alliigator Tears is actually one of my favorite songs on the album. So like everyone said, the term Alligator Tears means fake tears. The way I interpret the song is that it’s actually not meant to be sweet. I believe in one line B mentions being driven by fear, and when you pair that with being in a relationship with someone who is manipulative (because they cry alligator tears), you pretty much acquiesce to anything they want because you’re too afraid of being alone to let them go and you love them too much and don’t have enough love for yourself. So I think when B says “how does it feel to be adored” it’s meant to be more a sarcastic undertone because the kind of sacrifices she talks about making in the song are to the point where she loses herself (like changing religions) 😊. I just really love that song because it’s something I’ve gone through and overcome personally, the beat and the base are just 🔥, and I’m sarcastic asf so I am here for B’s sarcasm 😂
