I love the fact that she made herself the object of hate (in the beginning of the video) for others to realize that it hurts when it's reversed. Her perspective is beautiful and so creative.
Fast foward to 2022 and we are still the victims of the same double standards.
@jonathanlupus64562 жыл бұрын
Maybe i'm just young, but i was getting the vibe that she was about to justify her cheating. Because that's a popular thing to do nowadays (example: Jada Smith). It seems like everyone's a victim of bad justifications. It's only a double standard depending on which circle you run into.

Yeah just lump all men in one group, like all men act and think the same! I find Beyoncé and this song in particular very sexist! But I guess you can be as offensive to men as often you like? Beyoncé is no hero of women empowerment quite the opposite actually! Check out UK history like the Suffragettes www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/higher/history/britsuff/suffrage/revision/1/ Black women who were part of the American Civil Rights movement www.loc.gov/collections/civil-rights-history-project/articles-and-essays/women-in-the-civil-rights-movement/ Please check out my web links, as you may find out they are other women who made a real difference!

Beyoncé come to the world like she is the only creator of that music, and take all of the credits only for her... so BC talk with some lawyers, and Beyoncé finaly made a financial agreement to use the song... so, yes, Beyoncé stoled the song, wen i read this, i just cant believe Beyoncé was this tipe of person, it was a very big delusion for me to know that, but it is what it is, sorry, but Beyoncé is not the person that we tought she was!!!

HEY YOU Yes you. stop being unhappy with yourself. You're perfect. Stop wishing you looked like someone else or wishing people liked you as much as they like someone else. stop trying to get attention from those who hurt you. Stop hating your body, your face, your personality, your quirks. Love them. Without those things you wouldn't be you. And why would you want to be someone else? Be confident with who you are. Smile. It'll draw people in. If anyone hates on you because you are happy with yourself then stick your middle finger up in the air and say screw it. Your happiness should not depend on others anymore. You should be happy because you love who you are. You should love your flaws. You should love your imperfections. They make you. And 'you' is pretty amazing.

Same I’m now 19. And watching this video again I see a lot of new content that I didn’t notice when I was 14 or 15 like how the roles were switched and the girl was the one doing the cheating and the male was the faithful one in the relationship, how he was doing his work and not being taken with the girls who flirted with him to get into his pants. Seeing this song as a grown up and no longer that naive little girl there’s a certain amount to toxicity to the video. She says “ if I was a boy, she could understand how it feels to love a girl, that she’d be faithful” but lol the roles were switched and she was playing as the male but she kept repeating the same actions she was criticizing, like being intimate with other guys not being faithful to him etc. lmao. The difference I’m Baffled and astonished.

Once you overcome all the anger you might find yourself acting smarter with your feelings, being more careful and assertive with your standards. Just kidding we are all evil, aaaaaaall, even the male babys who are just being born at the very second are already sworn to satan. Gotta go to the secret men meeting now where our global men only network plots how we keep women down. You people need to give credit where credit is due BC Jean is the ORIGINAL singer | Composer. GEM has an amazing voice and sang this song amazingly, Beyoncé did sing the hell out of this song but lack the RAW Emotions that BC Jean has....she has a funky Pink vibe to her. we need more singers like her because right now everyone is so autotuned and robotic. i hope that she made some royalties off of this at least. NOTHING is better than the Original .... SEE for yourself. Neither GEM nor Beyoncé can light a candle to the raw emotions in which BC Jean sang this song.

I agree! She is kind of bad at or chooses not to control it usually. She has such a powerful voice and she just lets it run and do its own thing and gets kind of out of control and I don't really enjoy those songs or interludes as much. It is a display of talent but it lacks direction and control. This song is perfect.
