Thanks for the video, and I'm sure you'll know about this: there's a thing called Directed Self Assembly which, if it works, could mean less use of EUV machines. If a shorter exposure time is used, there are fewer photons hitting the target area, so edges are jagged rather than smooth. It's possible to use special polymers that fix that, making jagged edges smooth. So DSA potentially means less use of EUV per wafer (or other relevant metric). It doesn't necessarily mean less revenue for ASML, IMO because maybe it's in the zone of the Jevons paradox ("when technological progress increases the efficiency with which a resource is used, but the falling cost of use induces increases in demand enough that resource use is increased, rather than reduced." Wikipedia). BTW I'd love to know which stocks seem likely to benefit from DSA. Maybe Arkema, but it's a big low margin chemicals business and it's French. I had a call option on ASML earnings ....lost heavily on the trade. Huge disappointment. Didn't expect this kind of earnings with ASML being a monopoly.

Just because a company is a monopoly does not mean that they will have good earnings every quarter, especially in a cyclical industry. That does, however, not mean that ASML is not a good investment in the long-term. That is why you should value invest instead of doing derivatives.

@@antonfriberg881 True...derivatives have element of luck as they are time bound. It can go either ways. very risky. With all the AI hype all over the world, I just made a calculated guess that earnings would be good. Apparently the pace of AI adoption is not as good as the hype.
