Yeah, that's really expensive, so the question becomes whether the tech "gimmick" outweighes the game costing x2-x3 more than a game of the same type (space colony worker placement) where you are the computer yourself. So looks really cool, but the price will properly make me pass on it.

18:00 You said turn order goes 1-2-3 -> 3-2-1. Does that mean that if you sit in position 2 you're never first? Or can that be manipulated by actions (you mentioned in passing getting a assisant would make you go first next turn but not how it worked)
@martinaasandersen37755 жыл бұрын
OK, you talk a little more about it at 28:30 and say it can be manipulated by decree. But at that section you dont mention the assistants so are still a bit unsure whether they affect turn order and how.
@rahdo5 жыл бұрын
@@martinaasandersen3775 the assistants don't change turn order. the give you an extra 3rd action you can do in a given round, which happens before the regular actions. if multiple players have assistants, they'll get activated in regular turn order (which can only be changed by decrees)

One minute into the video and I'm very interested in this board game. The components make it look like they are actually living in there. Just think of skyscraper type building with little lights going off to show people going to bed at the night time phase, since it is connected to the app.

Would you say the prototype works properly regarding devices/connectivity and app integration-wise? :)

i had no issues with that in the prototype, other than the app was slow to respond to RF swipes occasionally (but they know about this and will fix it, they say) :)

Steeve Beaupré Yes! Sadly we keep our one poor proofreader severely overworked! We have so much material covering so many things, and to be honest he hasn’t had a chance to get to the decree cards yet. But all of this is still work in progress

@@greatrhino1 No, $400 for ME to get it. Did you read it. Some of us don't live in the USA. So again $400 for a board game is insane. To be exact its $406.64 plus $12.19 for exchange rate charges so the total would have been nearly $419. That is BS for a game that is mechanically doing nothing. The game itself is mediocre. But, hey we live in an age where people buy crap as long as it looks cool. This will not be a classic board game, it will be forgotten rather quickly.

And what happens with faulty items after the warranty of 2 years has expired? This would make a great video game, but as it is I will gladly pass!
@rahdo5 жыл бұрын
so then i guess you don't ever buy any piece of electronics ever, since that same argument could be made about a tv, computer, phone, etc.?
@rahdo5 жыл бұрын
and actually, continuing with that arguement, why buy anything ever? socks have NO warrantee, and they'll eventually get holes. what happens then? dogs chew up meeples that fall to the floor. what happens then? not sure that the issue of "things breaking down over time = should not buy thing" makes sense for anything really, except short-lived staples like food maybe?
@S.Kapriniotis5 жыл бұрын
@@rahdo Yes, I only buy from companies that are well established and I know that they will be around after 2 years, so that I can find spare parts, shops will be able to fix them, etc. Seems logical, doesn't it?

@@rahdo If you compare socks that you can mend on your own with a game that has electronic parts that only an engineer can tamper with then I'm out of here lol
@rahdo5 жыл бұрын
"Seems logical, doesn't it?" not to my way of thinking. the "i dare not buy it because i'm afraid it might not work in 2 years" logic falls apart because, by that fear-based reasoning, you shouldn't buy *anything* because you might get hit by a bus next week, and therefore can't enjoy the thing you bought anymore, so you clearly wasted your money. why put off enjoyment today because of the slim chance of not being able to enjoy it 2 years from now?

Are you kidding me, components with lights. Clever idea but just too darn expensive. Probably a lot of costing is going into the technology inside the components. Sorry can’t justify the cost for one game and I dare say a lot of people will pass because of it. Interesting idea though.

artur kurasiński sure I never said it wouldn’t get funded just that some people will pass because of the expense. Saying “a Lot” was probably a bit harsh but definitely some will.
@fizbany5 жыл бұрын
The cards have RFID so when you tap the cards on the plastic modules, the cards will be read. And the app will receive signals to calculate the effects. It is taking the painful part of counting points away from the great EURO games. Kind of pricey but much better than the STEM toys for kids. Those are quite expensive and low tech in fact.
