Another thing these two gentlemen had in common, they both lived almost the same lifespans. 70 years and four months.

Loved this video! I have just stumbled accidently into (early/silent) Buster last week for the first time, and I find I can't get enough. And it was really cool to hear the back story of Al St John. I had no idea he was related to Arbuckle. There is something so compelling overall about the silent stuff. You don't expect to laugh out loud over 100 year old humor and yet some of it is so fresh and original, so inventive, it just knocks your socks off. I also greatly admire these folks for their creativity - for coming from nothing - no education, no money - and creating themselves out of thin air, from their own brains and minds. Just their sheer, raw talent, and guts and fearlessness and nutso risk taking. Mind blowing. Thanks again!

Hi. Al also appeared in Buster’s _The “High Sign”_ and we get another glimpse of him in _The General_ when he is to our left of Dev Jennings who gives the order for the engine to cross the burning bridge.
