Great tips! Also remember that sometimes players just use coloured lanterns for decoration and aren't on a FOTD or Legend quest. Also, if you need to use different coloured lanterns but don't want your ship to glow you can light your ship lantern with a colour, then put out the lantern. It will still be coloured when you turn it back on.

@@kithio8296 I actually used it last night to see a gold hoarder from far away! It's all about the trailing edge of the flag, not the graphics on it. The shapes at the end of the flag show what it is. Graphics settings might also play a role, not positive though.

Yesterday my friend and I were at a Fort of Fortune and I blew up a gunpowder skeleton... Got a commendation which required another pirate crew to be on the island while you blew up a bunch of skeletons and I instantly knew someone was hiding on the fort... we were just in time to stop our ship from exploding.

Now I wondered if you by chance had a video that shows some fun things that new players could/should focus on or if this might be a topic you'd like to discuss in a future video? I'm seeing a lot of guides that go a bit too basic or that focus too much on money/PvP and I'd love to see something more of a showcase of easier challenges that have other rewards like cosmetics to keep me busy. For now I am slowly progressing through the Tales.

As a seasoned player don't put curse balls in the barrels divvy them amongst your crew they can't be taken from your inventory but they can be from barrels

I'm still rather disappointed that the Legendary Treasure Seeker costume never got expanded on. It's very clearly a Gold Hoarder turned Legend in its theming, and it's amazingly well done (mainly because, as a costume, it's not restricted to slots so jewelry and straps and so forth can be added freely). Move that to the Captain's Voyages, and add in some other variants, and it'd work great - it's a Gold Hoarder themed voyage, in the Ancient Isles which is sort of the Gold Hoarder's idea area, or at least, when region is assigned one faction the Gold Hoarders always end up there, whether it's the background of the Emissary vote images or the old system of only the Sovereign cosmetics, tied to their faction and theming, being buyable there. Anyways, another variant of it focusing on Plunder Valley, and then Order of Souls versions of the voyage centered around the largest islands of the Wilds and Merchant Alliance versions focused around the largest islands of the Shores of Plenty. Then those additional commendations for each can be added, and a costume for each - a member of each faction progressing to the Legendary status. Some other small details you missed: -The brig on skeleton ships is at the front of the lowest deck (on galleons, of course), not the back. -The plants on plant skeletons perk up and brighten in hue when exposed to water, which also includes rain from the storm. This lets you see the effect without relying on particles. It also lasts for a little bit after they leave the water, same with gold skeletons. -The official shop names the keepers' names are based on are: Weapons, Clothes, Trinkets (contrary to popular believe, it is not 'tools'), and Shipwright. The faction representatives have the same as the main word in said faction's name - Merchant, Hoarder, and Order. -The 'head' of the kraken's tentacles takes increased damage, although against galleons its health is increased significantly compared to a sloop, and to a minor degree relative to a brigantine, so it can sometimes take two hits to make it properly leave. It also will move when hit rather than leaving on the first, similarly to how the amount of total tentacles needed to be killed, as well as the amount of times they respawn, changes based on ship type - two tentacles on a sloop, six on a brigantine, and all eight on a galleon; with one 'respawn' each on a sloop, two on a brigantine, and three on a galleon, I believe, although these numbers may have changed since I recorded them so very long ago by now. This scaling effect, with the sloop balanced for 1 player, the brigantine for 3 and the galleon for 4, applies to nearly everything in the game including megalodon (12 hits, 36 hits and 48 hits respectively), chest digging speed (inverse, of course, so slowest on galleons), and Tall Tale boss encounters. This balancing, which also applies to the sloop's sinking speed, is why I will remain firmly of the belief that to properly balance ship combat the sloop needs to be lowered to a crew size of 1 player and a dedicated two-player ship should be designed, rather than the old argument of making an even smaller craft for solo players. After all, it was introduced following the beta because of the requests for a single-person ship, and only retains a crew size of two due to the system back then capping crew when you started the ship and otherwise effectively being open crew, and since only the two ships existed you would be stuck with either a manageable three player galleon, a four player galleon, a solo sloop, or the shoehorned-in duo sloop. -Each skeleton ship actually has a unique name based on its respective cursed cannonball's effect, although unfortunately their banners are difficult to spot and they retain no visual differences otherwise. They are as follows: The _Fools Stride_ (limpballs), the _Sandman's Revenge_ (wearyballs), the _Dancing Demon_ (jigballs), the _Foul Grog_ (grogballs), the _Black Viper_ (venomballs), the _Enslaving Chain_ (anchorballs), the _Siren's Gale_ (riggingballs), the _Fool's Bounty_ (barrelballs), the _Cursed Helm_ (helmballs, and this is also referred to as the _Afflicted Helm_ after Cursed Crews but wasn't during Cursed Sails), the _Peacekeeper's Demise_ (peaceballs), and the _Thieves Burden_ (ballastballs). Some are more creative than others. I don't believe the sloops have names, and I don't think this accounts for duplicates (or those firebomb-bearing ships from a few updates around the time of Ashen Treasures), unless they refer to the whole fleet or just the flagships of each fleet bearing those. Whatever the case, those flagships or lone ships do still exist since the skeleton ships, and this is actual in-game lore, are independent entities and repair themselves to rise again some time after they sink. They cannot be killed, similarly to how the skeletons always claw their ways back into the world from wherever they go, and how the pirates return from death and the animals of the sea rarely if ever truly die in battles. We are, all of us on every side, in an endless loop.
