I didn't love the ending because it was entirely a depressing film. You are absolutely correct in your first sentence about how the homophobe brother pushed his younger sibling into the hands of a dangerous predator. He was far too casual about Théo making a plan to meet with a middle-aged man on the internet. Sometimes siblings are as useless as parents when a gay boy is growing up in the house.

A beautiful film and not as downbeat as some people seem to suggest. Even though his "first time" didn't go as planned, young Theo undergoes an essential "rite of passage". However unpleasant and dangerous this initial experience may be, it shows that he has the courage to pursue his dreams; a courage that neither the married man nor the closeted football mate of his brother will ever muster. As his brother realises at the end of the movie, Theo is the brave one, destined to leave the small rural place and live his life elsewhere, in a big city. His parents will understand, at least eventually. Most likely they will even be supportive, and his brother Lucas will always be there for him.

I wouldn't call such abusive and manipulative sex to be a "rite of passage" lol. he didn't feel powerful after that, he was wrecked and vulnerable that's why his brother supported him with the idea of leaving that place. the thing with gay kids is that we don't get to experience the same things as our straight peers-having a girlfriend/boyfriend, you know those stuffs-because there are rarely another gay kids that we know, so we search for love in other places at a young age. we turn to dating apps and talk-or even possibly more than talking-to a 30 year old something just to feel that "love".

If you want to experience love you can. Films related to gay content are always dramatic. Reality is different. You just have to wait the right moment. I decided myself to meet a guy that was my age at 20, and this was my first love. Maybe it took 5 years to find someone but at least I did not risk to put myself in danger. I'm from a really small village and it was impossible to meet anyone. It's only when I moved to a big city that I had more chance to experience sex and love safely. Great movie, compelling, really well acted and the story exposes yet again, the problems for gay people living in rural communities. That said, I hope that we can one day move to themes that are redemptive, uplifting and positive. We have well enough films depicting homophobia, suicide, violence, depression and AIDS already.

It's good to see the genuine bond and affection between the two brothers with one being straight and the other gay. What's not so good is that Theo, living in the French rural countryside, a bastion of conservatism, can only confide in Lucas that he's gay and takes love where he can find it - via dating apps, where he ends up with a married man twice his age. Apparently, the assignation doesn't go well and Theo calls Lucas who decides to go where he is and pick him up. Do they both decide to leave their village together? Regardless, this is a well-acted and great depiction of what life is like for young men like this, neither of whom seem to be particularly happy with their circumstances and perhaps finally decide to do something about it.

I gone try to translate but I am not a native speaker so I apologize in advance if I say something wrong. So when Theo is in the hotel room with this other guy he ask him if I want drink Theo say no, after the guy asked to Théo to undress, he doesn't want so I say "now" After Théo say that he don't want keep going and the guy say "we here for that" After his brother go looking for it and he shouts at the hotel manager "where is he !? (The guy) " " I gone kill him" he say to the manager " Did you now his age !?" After Luka cried to Théo that he had warned him After, in the end, he asked to Théo if is he okay Théo say " don't you want us to go?" And Lukas say "you you gone live (the village), me I gone stay" Voilà if you need more information or if I say some think wrong you can tell me 😄

A good film, for me it showed brotherly love, care and companionship. I also felt how lonely it must be living in the country side, a small town and being gay. Perhaps this is the reason that so many people leave small villages for the city! I can't say I blame them!..just be careful who you may meet!

Good short. Good acting and nicely filmed. liked the relationship between the brothers. It Felt realistic. When the younger one went to meet a stranger I found that really tense...When I was a teen I would wait for the bus in downtown Seattle at 11:30 pm .... A man would drive by me and eventually he would appear and talk to me. Eventually I was persuasive to go home with him. He looked and acted exactly like this guy. I was fairly naïve and before I knew it I was doing something that I didn't want. He was in control. I left scared and humiliated. So to teens be very careful.

Yep, this was me at sixteen. First hookup with someone twice my age, and it went horribly wrong. But even though everything beforehand seemed sketchy, I still went on ahead and did it anyway. Teenager logic I suppose.

Ça me dégoût.

Why doesn't the story address that the brother made a mistake? He caused a situation that put his brother in danger and also caused despair in his brothers team mate.

The older bros Love is very deep and Protective for his younger bro. Sometimes brothers form a life long Love relationship. I've heard of several of these. One I know of they have been together for years living in the same house. It started when the bro's were very young age 5 and 6. They were unable to sleep apart so started sleeping together and continued all through High School. They are in their 50's now and Still Together. They never wanted anyone else but each other. They probably had previous life times together and this is just a continuation of love that's rooted in centuries of bonding!

The younger brother is incredibly handsome. Good actor too. His nose reminds me of Chris Isaak's. The most interesting aspect of this film to me is the over-the-top jealousy of the older brother, that his little brother was being paid attention to by one of his teammates. The guy was nice, and actually interested in the younger one's intellect; not that his looks had escaped him either, I'm sure. It is a red flag that he's "dating" a woman, but obviously would be the better option compared to the other dude. Good flick.

im quite surprised with how many people were involved with older men in their teenage years. I experienced that as well but fortunately it wasnt as terrible as what most gay teen experienced. Although we never met in person, he never asked me for any pictures below my neck or forced me to have a video call with him. Looking back now, Im quite certain he was just going along with my teenage hormones' rampage and wasnt exactly attracted to me sexually. He taught me quite a lot of things about love, being gay and being a father. I kinda regretted how my thirst for attention made our relationship toxic for hom, if only I was a little more mature and had more self control, we could have been great friends. Even now, Im always hoping the best for him and his family.
