I'd be interested in hearing more about palossand. Same typing as golurk with a decent moveset but has mud shot as its fast move. I've always wanted golurk to get mud shot but until then I'm really curious about palossand. It has a neat typing and could be fun to use (maybe not as much in open gl but maybe limited cups). I'm actually saving some for trading for xl candies because i just have a feeling it could be good in ultra even if it's just a spice pick. Otherwise great video! Was waiting on this since the moment I saw the update notes released! Great stuff. Regarding the upcoming move updates in the Matrix simulations, you can actually input, for example, "Scald (new)" for Whiscash or Poliwrath, etc., to account for the new move stats in the simulations! If they're present in the "Moves" page, they can be assigned to a pokemon in the Matrix

I really likes the analysis. I'm always more eager to see what spice picks become more viable. Things like Claydol, Rufflet, Poliwhirl. Also, I might try Toxicroak with PJ, mud bomb and shadow ball. Could make for some nice coverage.

Regarding Wigglytuff: You use it as a Ghost/Save swap Killer with Charm. You do not have to shield in the zeros against Trevenant, Sableye, Jelli, Medi, Licky and Cofa. Furthermore the matchup against A-Slash is not as bad as it looks like.

I prefer to listen to what you have to say, even if you end up livestreaming patch notes to get it to your audience faster. I'm all for it meaning don't feel too bad about not being able to get your thoughts on the patch notes out ASAP but rather a through and well exhaustive analysis is a much more enjoyable watch.

I never got my carbinks traded after go fest so I’ve been hanging onto those this whole season waiting for guaranteed xl from trading to come back (missed the few days of guaranteed xl from trading they recently had as well). I built a carbink with high IV when it first came out but want to build the XL carbink so now i just need to get someone to sit and do a bunch of trades. I also want to max out my hundo purified wobbuffet so hopefully wobbuffet has some spawns this season so can get that done too. Those are the only two I’d add to your great league list to target for xls.

Of the top 6 for GL on PVPoke (before the new moves) only Medicham is banned from that remix cup. Carbink, Lickitung, Gligar normal and shadow, and Swampert are all not banned. Great work Niantic.

The starter pokemon comm moves have no business being as strong as they are, when in the main series games they're just Fire/Water/Grass versions of Hyper Beam. T_T (yes i'm slightly upset i've missed out on so many strong moves, by returning to the game recently after only playing during the launch month in 2016 lol) Will you have a video a few days ahead of the December Recap with condensed info about what moves are worth making sure you get during that weekend? Long-form = best form. Really looking forward to these changes. You were saying "why would you ever want aerial ace on A-slash?" And what comes to mind for me would be bug or fighting types. You could aerial ace Buzzwole, Araquanid, Beedrill, Medicham. So maybe not the best, but it has some niche use

I was wildly bummed at the ban list for GL Remix. May just dissolve into Licki/Charizard cores with any flex pick for a third/lead. Edit: A-Slash with AA is going to be interesting. Winning a mid game matchup and coming out with shield advantage as well as a lot of energy could potentially allow for some new flips, but is of course very dependent on how much damage you take in that mid game.

You asked someone to come up with any of these pokemon that could actually use trailblaze. The only one that I could imagaine is Oranguru, because Oranguru runs confusion, and you may wanna buff the fast move damage. It's charged moves are foul play, psychic, and future sight. You want foul play. Psychic got badly nerfed, and future sight is meh and will take forever to grt there if you run confusion, so you may wanna go foul play/ trailblaze with Oranguru. Also trailblaze offers coverage as youll already beat things weak to psychic with the fast move. Other than that one instance, I agree with you. Trailblaze does nothing for any of those pokemon.

Fly on talonflame is better with the incinerate buff because now it will want to stay alive longer to burn down the opponent. Brave bird is also really good in calcs but fly will be more consistent.

I hate the breaking swipe change but it had to happen. It is such a cool move and it made Haxorus and Rayquaza viable. The whole thing could've been avoided if they didn't give it to a behemoth steel type in Steelix.

Enjoyed the video even if it was long. You made some solid points Dan and your insight is always appreciated. Personally not a fan of the breaking swipe and psychic nerfs, even if it's an unpopular opinion. Same people who are celebrating now, will be complaining 2-3 weeks into the new season about how boring and how stale the game feels because everyone uses the same lame pokemon. More buffs = more pokemon are viable, and that = diversity in the game. Which makes the game less stale and boring (in my humble opinion, of course). Instead let's just kill Heliolisk, Rayquaza and Haxorous because Steelix is evil... uhm, ok sure? Realistically, all that's happened to Steelix is it's become a sort of RPS pokemon. Does he get the debuff? Well flip a coin and find out. Feeling lucky? Oh I guess they did buff bubble trying to bring Azu back, because that pokemon is so fun and fresh to the game 🤮🤮🤮

Steel wing is also better because you don't care about super effectiv fast attack against Gras. With flying and steel you are winning anyway. But now you have a hard counter vs carbink AND medi in 1 pokemon. Also counters serpiroyal.
