The character said that reading the diary was like watching a person slowly going insane.

@terrismith96625 жыл бұрын
If they're going to claim that this is the "true" story of Laura Ingalls Wilder then they should have made this film as accurate as possible. I watched a few minutes and I see many mistakes. First of all they mispronounced Almanzo's name. It's pronounced Al -MAN -zo , (not "Al MON zo"). Almanzo would NEVER EVER have called Laura "Miss Flutterbudget"on their very first meeting. That would have been much too familiar and even disrespectful in that time and in that place. "Flutterbudget" was Pa's own special name for Laura and he was the only one to call her that. Pa would never have allowed Laura,nor Ma, out onto the frozen prairie to search for the lost children. It was much too dangerous because a blizzard could have hit in a matter of minutes and then they themselves would have been lost on the prairie. Ma and the girls stayed inside during the Long Winter, even during the rare sunny,but bitter cold, days. I realize that screenwriters take liberties for creative reasons and to make the story flow but if they're going to say "this is the true story of Laura Ingalls Wilder" then they should make it accurate.

Why tear the movie apart just because of a few things like a mispronounced name? Folk are so judgmental about so many things. It’s not, like davestang says, a documentary. Based on all the criticism from people posting here about the "inaccuracies" found in this movie it's obvious that so many people are confusing the purpose of HISTORICAL-BASED DRAMA film making vs DOCUMENTARY film making. If you want fact-based information, there are plenty of documentaries about LIW available. This movie is an interpretation of the "spirit" of Wilder's life, not the facts, and who can be the true judge of her life other than LIW herself?

I REALLY don't care that the characters don't resemble the cast of the 1970s'😳 It's ONLY a movie.. I think it's NEAT to see another point of view..😊 Movies are NEVER true to the lives of those they're about.. Michael Landon did a phenomenal job with the TV series and made years of FABULOUS family movie night😁 His son, Michael Landon Jr has followed his father's footsteps and directed Janette Oakes' Books with the titles.. Love Comes Softly, Loves Enduring Promise, Love Begins, Love Finds a Home and others.. I read the " LOVE" books as they came out and was THRILLED when they were made into movies🤗 They are definitely worth watching for ANYONE who enjoys circa 1800s. They are available on KZbin for free. Search for the titles and enjoy the show😊I would suggest starting with Love Comes Softly and then Love Begins..or the other way around.. I rewatch the LOVE series when I need an attitude adjustment..Works EVERY TIME..😉 God bless you all..

Little House on the Prairie has always been one of our favorite series to watch. Also, Dr. Quinn, but we haven't seen any reruns of that series in a very long time. I don't know why a TV network won't pick it up. The original Love Comes Softly movie series had 8 parts. After they finished that, they made 2 additional prequel movies and numbered them #9 (Love Begins) and #10 (Love's Everlasting Courage). So if you're going to watch the entire series, start with 9 and 10 and then go to #1. It will then be in the chronological order of the story line. Plus you'll understand better what happened to Clark Davis' wife and how things came to be in #1 Love Comes Softly.

The "true story" of Laura Ingalls? No, sorry, this is by far away from it! I have read the books several times and this movie fails the characters, fails the design, fails the spirit of that time - f.e. why let "Laura" to wear her hair open all the time? Is it supposed to be beautiful that way? No woman of her time would have shown herself in public like this! Besides: Laura had very long dark brown hair, ordered in a cultivated style. When open it hang down under her knees....Not just some blonde strains like this girl of 1970ty style.... Its strange - I feel pity for the nowadays american people who seemingly don't know their own history....The real Ingalls and Wilders were decent, hard working, christian people, were reflected, self-respecting and not superficial...Even many important facts here are changed....Though its closer to the original story than the hollywood-fashion films made by Michael Landon - still, its a pity, a big chance to show the true story is lost....

Little House on the Prairie meets The Waltons!
@nunyabuisness75525 жыл бұрын
Walton's were a JOKE compared to Little House on the Prairie. Walton's had ELECTRICITY and a hot water tank in the country in the 1930's?????? BULL$HIT! Even if they did have electricity there were not electric hot water tanks yet. They constantly delivered much more modern things to the series past season 1 and especially season 2. After 2 seasons the hair styles and clothes often was created generations later! Remember (wart on his face) John Boy wouldn't shoot animals for food in episodes to deliver a completely FALSE and WRONG message about the era? HollyWierd corrupted the Waltons which is why I couldn't stand the series back in the 70's. I loved Little House but hated Waltons. I was too young to really know why I hated one and loved the other but I knew, even back then, there were significant differences in quality between the 2 series. John Boy was the very first "METRO-SEXUAL" male to ever be on TV!
@KurtSlotkowski-hj8jd4 жыл бұрын
@@nunyabuisness7552 The Waltons were an enterprise of the leftist. Little House on the Prairie, however, were uncorrupted by politics. The sombering and moral message - and life's real challenges, tribulations and temptations - remained consistent all the way through each episode and season and each character developed into a stronger person who was relatable to all of us, as a result. Unlike, the Waltons.
