I happen to be a young doc, not married and moved to a small place in a run down rural clinic but on a beautiful location because I felt the Lord wanted me to come here. This film makes a good point about learning to accept change. Initially, these small town folk were clearly biased toward this city doctor because they viewed him as a disruption of their daily life and routine. Then they gradually warmed up to him once they realized he wasn't just all talk and was good at his profession. Sometimes change can be a good thing if people are willing to let it happen.

Don't you think the change in the Doc was pretty substantial too?
@xyPERSON Жыл бұрын
@@cathybassett6432 Most definitely Cathy and thank you for bringing that up. The doctor even learned to open his heart up more and trust others. By the end of the film I think it's apparent his relationship with his own son had significantly improved. All of the characters in this film were affected by change to some degree or another.

Great movie Popcorn!! It is so refreshing to find a movie these days with morals and values. I enjoyed the way the widowed father and his son slowly adapted to country life and the townspeople embracing him as their local doctor. It makes me wish I lived in a small town instead of Los Angeles. Neighbors help one another and everyone works together to make things work. Furthermore, seeing a clean movie without the profanity and crudity is welcomed. Thank you Popcornflix for posting this movie.

The subplot involving the children is lovely too. Who wouldn't want a kind and take-charge friend like Chris? The way she dominates Fred without being overbearing is too cute, constantly asking for his reassurances, which he always gives silently. Doris Ricks-Lankford God had nothing to do with it. This is a fictional movie. Just like your beliefs. If you don’t want to hear about my beliefs then don’t try publicly to put your beliefs out there. Christians are only a small fraction of the population of the world. If your wondering why I would assume your Christian when you didn’t use the word Jesus, it’s because Christians 1st priority is to spread the word of God. Not...to help another people in need. Not...do not kill. Not...do not steal. Nope. It’s 1st priority is to spread the word. What a great belief system. I personally, like belief systems that have a priority of helping other people, the animals, Earth. I like taking action and making a meal for someone. Not saying a measly prayer out to nowhere but wanting the credit of doing something for someone. Again, I would have said nothing if you didn’t push your religion and beliefs on people. You can’t say just don’t read it because it can’t work that way. You have to read it first to know it’s offensive. Otherwise I would have skipped it. Other people’s kids that don’t have the same belief system that you have read comments. You wouldn’t want your kids reading about my beliefs would you? You’ll say yes now just to try to support your argument but we both know you wouldn’t let your kids read my beliefs. Please, just keep that nonsense for church, friends, and family. And again, please see how ridiculous that you are giving credit for these things happening when they didn’t even really happen in real life. It’s a fictional story. If you’re so desperate to find things to give credit to your God that you have to use made up things it might be time for you to find something that does do good things. Stop ignoring all the bad.
@liahrene40203 жыл бұрын
@@katiekat4457 I think you'll find that Doris was speaking in generalities - she wasn't implying that she believed this was a true story. I find your hostility sad. Many Christians do live their faith out in practical ways. I'm sorry you've been disappointed 🌼

A++++. This movie was EXCELLENT. It had a great lesson. The pace of the movie is slow, quiet, and reflective, just like the qualities that the doctor needs to learn. The acting was very good and realistic to what would happen in real life. I have a personailty like the doctor's and I related to the way he handled everything. I was able to really appreciate the movie more beacause of that. I highly recommend watching this from beginning to end.

What a beautiful movie. Yep, I cried and cried but happy tears for the father and his son and I can imagine how it went after the ending. Lovely story line and it reaches into your heart and tugs on it because it teaches you that its not what you have or where you're from and who you know, it's kindness and love that should make the world go round and bring peace to all. 2 thumbs up!!!!! P.S I live on 20 acres in Corona CA, a city growing by the minute, but we live in a canyon 5 minutes from the freeway but you don't think so because it's all nature around us, and when I am going home down the dusty dirt road and see the beautiful trees and nature all around us, there is no place like home. Us country folk know that in times of need, we will step in and help other wise, people forget about you. and you long to be back home. Unlike the big city's were no one cares about people who grow the food that feeds them or the people who grow it. So I am thankful my Great Grandparents settled in this great place. I grow are own food, even the 4 legged kind and can the fruits and vegetables. The meat gets hauled to the butcher and packaged. I share with my neighbors some, but I also have a Son and Daughter with kids of their own. So yes I love the fact that I am a country woman who was taught the ways of the past and that I passed them on to my children. I also grow for my 73 year old Mother and she is more healthy than others her age. OH I also make butter and cheese from the cows milk we get every day. That's 5 gallons a day. We love the whole milk and the cream.

† Christ Help US! This is too HORRIBLE!!!: 1:25:12 and 1:33:53 The first resuscitation move in both cases should be simple mouth to mouth breathing. You don't have to be a doctor to know that. Any CNA knows that. There are a lot more aberrancies that make this a horror flick, but this double CPR incompetence tops them all. 1:25:12 "Dr" does not check vital signs of a baby who does not breathe? Father says: "Do something" and the "doctor" does not even feel for breath, does not check the pulse, barely looks at the baby and refuses care repeatedly!!! Puts baby in the arms of the nurse who also does ... nothing at all!!! This is blatant malpractice! In a non-breathing baby CPR myst be started promptly with respiratory resuscitation and by protocol it must continue for at least 20 minutes at steady pace before pronouncing the baby dead. 99% of doctors continue CPR and Advanced Life Support for at least 1 hour before giving up. What this movie tries to sell as a pediatrician is the most blatant impostor!!! Also unconceivable that he does not give his own son any respiratory resuscitation, no CPR when there is so much waiting time until someone brings him the "kit". The thump on the chest is outdated for at least 60 years now. Epinephrine injection into the chest is outdated for at least 70 years now, because ineffective and has too many serious risks therefore might be malpractice. Please wake-up, People! This flick is either made by incompetents or for the purpose to lower health-care standards in the US, or both. Health-care in underserved areas deserves MUCH BETTER SERVICE! †
