You are the perfect people to review the Phil Eklund games or especially "High frontier (4 all)" since there is not really a review about this on the internet and you shown yourselfs that you are able to explain even the most complicated board games (talking about your video on the 18xx genre). This is why I would be super interested in your take on this simulation game especially since the new edition is "4 all" :D

Really enjoyed this one. Only played 2-p, so I’m stoked to try it with higher player counts. As for the art, I actually don’t mind it. This coming from someone who refuses to buy Terraforming Mars because of the egregious art. I think the minimal style makes everything readable at a glance. The player boards could be prettier, but then I worry they wouldn’t be as user-friendly. For now, probably a solid 8/10.

@@DanielHCassidy art is completely subjective. For example, I didn't really care for the cover art for On Mars or the art in The Gallerist when so many were gushing about those; on the other hand, I was drawn to this one because of the art and graphic design. (But I generally like Ian O'Toole art and buy most games of which he does the art.)

@@coreywilliams8568 you're right about subjectivity. As I hate seeing art by Ian o toole because apart from the box covers I'm like so what's the joke lads where exactly is the art. Got it, could not test it in real life due to real life being the domain of COVID, saw there was a module in TTS. Organized friends to test it, took some time, we did. Found out that in the meantime the mod was removed, and somehow now it doesnt load correctly and decided that Level IV techs images could be replaced by another copy of the Level III deck, so the end of the trial run was me opening my copy to find out actual Level IV cards. So, no perfect conditions for testing, but I think the game is interesting, if a bit dry not only in presentation, but really needs to get some plays so you start to see what you mention - that there is tactical decisions all the way, from what to research to what to colonize to when to abandon plan A (say, I'll go for Level IV techs as quickly as possible) to plan B (hey, that tech she researched is nice but is in a different branch...) God is my witness, when this thing ends, I'll kidnap members of my club to burn on the backlog :)

Rio Grande has said they expect a properly sanctioned TTS mod soon. They just asked the others to be taken down since they were without permission and some of them had issues with cards, etc and they wanted to make sure people had a good experience.
