Oh yeah, Hobao goes WAY back! I remember when the nitro powered Hyper7 was the hot ticket for racing... and those cars really were very fast for the time and well put together! At any rate, $340 for a 1/8 scale ARTR via the Hobao store is pretty reasonable.

Hobao models are bullet proof my old Hyper gte got run over by a VW 4x4 and ended up with damaged body shell and 2 broken wheels, not bad

Hobao are awesome, I got a VSE roller on sale after watching some videos including yours and the thing is a beast. Such a stable drive and so much power with a 8bl150 G2 and Quicrun 4268 2600KV on 4S. Something worth noting is the sound of the Hobao drivetrain, it's smooth but still has this sharp aggressive sound that makes you wanna punch punch that throttle 😄

Hello, I have a vse too but do not have an engine yet, how fast is yours with the 4268 2600kv motor? Is it faster than a 4274 2000kv motor?

@@superfabian143 Yeah the 2600KV 4268 will be faster than 2000KV 4274, but the longer 4274 motor could have more torque. I haven't done a proper speedtest, but it's a bit faster than my Corally Muraco which has a 2050KV motor and max out at about 60km/h on 4s. I like to put out cones and drive them on short grass like it's on a track and for that they're both plenty fast.

@@Tamichtube That's awesome! Myself and my mates do exactly the same as you we meet up at the park set up a track with some cones and race around having a blast. I have a Muraco and other Corally and Arrma cars and I run all mine on 4S as well . Last purchase was the Kagama and I find it great on 4S and quite explosive and fast as it is. I run 15T pinions on all the others but find the Kagama good enough on the 13T it comes with..

I got a Hyper SSe buggy and its my most durable bashers. Only thing I've broken was a front control arm, and that was at top speed into a metal pole. Great car at a great price.

I was recommended one of these at ARC Raceway. They are great for getting into racing on track. Haven't got one yet as I couldn't stop myself from getting the TA SC10 Pro4 lol

looks great, certainly on my want list. I just picked up an Arrma Vorteks for a silly price off ebay, what a great truck. so will have to hold off for a while on shelling out on any other vehicles. Only thing putting any doubt in my mind is I have a few trucks now that my Son and I drive around,, Arrma Big Rock, Corally Sketer, Omni Terminator, HBX 2966A, MJX Hypergo 1/14, FTX Zorro brushless and now Arrma Vorteks,, so for me quite a lot and I wonder if the Hobao would be simply buying more of the same. However were we to get another this is high on our list. Good video as always.

I have to say this is one Truggy that I continually think about getting .. Hobao's CNC parts look great and I never hear or read any negative comments about them. I have the Kagama and a V 1 6S kraton EXB plus an Asuga and Muraco Truggy and I'm wondering have you ever had the Muraco? Like the Popalong lads I run the Louise racing tyres on mine and I have to say at the park when we set up a track that thing with a 15T pinion on 4S is absolutely amazing to drive. I still run factory weight diff fluid and shock fluid and the way that thing handles with the racing tyres is so good. First drive with the standard tyres I hated it so much so I didn't drive it for more than a few minutes it just constantly spun out on grass and I can't believe Corally supply the Muraco with those tyres. I think my next purchase will be the TEKNO truggy kit with a sensored HW system then maybe the SSTe after that..

Back in the day I bought a Traxxas Sledge that was quite cheap for what it usually costs, which I am happy with and one of the alternatives I compared was this Hobao. In the end I bought a Hobao MTX a year and a half ago, which is my first car from the brand and it is really tough. Hobao makes highly recommended things and like Team Magic they do not have the sales presence they deserve.

AKA Ofna. Or it could be that Ofna was just a division of Hobao back in the day. The Nitro Monster Pirate was insane. Still have mine but with an original Tmaxx suspension setup someone came out with ages ago. The arms are proline extended made for the Tmaxx back then as well. All this makes me feel ancient. I’m hunting one of these SST E’s down. Very cool. Didn’t know this company was still putting things out.

i do believe you can run them without but it doesn't quite sit right. 8mm or 12mm will make a huge difference

Soft stamped towers and chassis. The 7075 upgrades are a massive step up, but they are expensive. I think a Vorza S is the best value even though it is expensive since it comes with 7075 throughout. And don’t get me wrong, I think Hobao make great cars, especially their shocks and drivelines.

I love my Hyper 8.5 it's a bit longer than my brother's Hyper 7 which makes it more stable IMHO. His has a 21 in it mine has a 32 in it. Both great bashers.

Just google Hyper SSTE? Google is your friend lol. Also it hasn't made my Top 5/10 lists as its way out of budget in its RTR form or Rolling chassis (after electronics fitted) I would consider it an intermediate RC car with the majority of my audience being beginners or people starting out its hardly appropriate to be on a cheap top 5/10. This video is to demonstrate that its a brilliant all rounder if budget allows.

debatable as ARRMA/Traxxas are the market leaders and people choose the well known brands over the 'Lesser' known brands.. almost all the time.
