Isn’t that too small of an area to aim for with that type of punch? The philtrum is tiny and easier too stick your finger in for the effect I believe you’re going for. Your finger whether with the tip or the side pushing into it will take them straight back off their feet.

I feel like a normal punch to the bridge or even the point of the nose would be easier. That person will be moving and most likely trying to block you. It reminds me of when woman are taught to poke someone’s eyes with 3 fingers. That’s really hard in a real world situation with that style of jabbing to a small area and doesn’t leave them in a position for a good follow up. Maybe with you training for a long time to punch that way, you can do it, but the average person won’t be effective with that style of a punch. I also feel like it’s going to set you up to grab them afterwards or be more defensive rather than continuing to attack.. Again, maybe you’re used to that training with other people in your style of self defense. Like it would translate in karate vs karate, but not karate vs boxer. Hopefully you understand what I’m trying to say..

@@NickkaDUB this isn't meant to be self defence per se. It's a technique from traditional TKD poomsae which should be aimed at the philtrum as in "at that height".
