If you haven't, I recommend watching the whole video. The designers are actually very respectful and knowledgeable of the current conflict. Many of them are also directly contributing to providing aid to Ukrainians, and have a unique insider perspective into the war. At the end of the video they discuss the controversy of it, and part of the reason they did it was to offer their unique perspective on the conflict in a way that they can explain (ie Lego). They also felt it was a way that parents could explain the situation to kids if they so chose. I was skeptical at first too but after watching the video I support their effort, they're bringing awareness in their own way

@@Carmen-PleaseDistort In 2014 the US sponsored a coup that evicted the democratically elected Ukrainian president and installed a more pro-US president in his place. From there radical anti-Russian (some are openly Nazis) forces were let in as state bureaucrats and the neo-Nazi Azov battalion was integrated into the military. This scared two eastern Ukrainian Oblasts (Lughansk and Donestk) into seceding from Ukraine. For the last 8 years the radical neo-Nazi, US supported junta has been killing innocent Russians (14,000 in 8 years) in this region and has been posturing more aggressively against Russia at the direction of their US allies. This is happening in a country that (at least was) very pro-Russian and saw themselves as brothers to Russians. The final straw was the opening of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline which was going to supply Germany with cheap Russian gas. US oil companies would simply not allow that. Europe has to be dependent on America, so the anti-Russian aggression intensified and Biden began deliberately sabotaging the US's relationship with Russia to the point where placing missiles on the Russian border was openly discussed. This was of course meant to goad Russia into finally sending in troops to prevent the anti-Russian aggression and genocide in that region. The story from there is more complicated, but that's the gist of how the US has caused this war. Feel free to share.

Well, I understand why people would make military and war related builds, I build that a lot myself in fact. But that is all historic, this is now. Making a moc of a war that is going on right now is probably not a very good idea. Okay, the soldiers that are currently fighting are obviously not going to care, because they are literally fighting for their lives an do not watch lego videos. But for the russians back home, and the Ukrainians that fled and are now living in other countries, they might not like this kind of stuff.
