This is by far the best Hoth MOC I've ever seen. Not just the size, but the quality of work and attention to detail. And I love the little humorous scenes throughout. * chef's kiss *

Many of these huge dioramas end up mostly just getting attention for their size, but this guy is a really impressive builder as well. The details and sculpting are unusually good for this kind of build.

I'm stunned, such a dedicated and growing project for 15 years and it shows. Whatever revisions and redesigns he did over time, you can see it in the articulate craft of the the rock and ice work itself, all the appreciative details that make such a strong foundation for the minifigs. And the way he highlights and lights areas, like the med bay and such to command such presence for those spots. Mostly I love how refined everything is, layout and composition give such good breathing space for each area. Meanwhile my minifigs go on a baseplate and my ships on wobbly stands xD

Oh yeah, I've seen the 2018 version of this diorama at Legoland California Star Wars Days. Mark brought his AT-ATs alone in the previous years while he was building the diorama itself. That new ion cannon looks way better than his original design. I really miss SW Days at Legoland California. 2018 was the last year. I started going in 2010 and displaying my SW MOCs in the fan area along with other LUG members (I'm with LUGOLA). The event motivated me to build a new MOC every year.

The average price per LEGO brick right now is about 11 cents. So, 250K bricks at $0.11 each totals $27,500 USD for this build. Nice!

Great achievement... some builders undervalue their work because it's been such a long haul of incremental improvements.

Absolutely undeniably undisputed incredible display of the battle of Hoth. I recently spent $455 on 91 snow troopers to fill my UCS ATAT….. perspective. And I only have 1 ATAT. Those walkers are phenomenal, cleaner look. The cheeks on the head, there’s no gap. Really clean. Even had mini movie posters
