I remember a TV show or something that tested one long time ago, they even bbqed the watch, the plastic melted and the display cut out as long as it was on the BBQ, but as soon as it was removed it worked flawlessly. Impressive watches! Had one of those with 10 year battery and it did hold out for at least 8 years which is impressive as I used the backlight quite a lot. The only thing bad was the backlight button as it was just a thin bit of metal which broke of. I took it apart but didn't get the gasket on as it was supposed to go on so it wasn't water proof any more. Showered and had it under water, could see water droplets inside but still worked even with the water inside it. But it got condensation on the inside of the glass easily so a bought a new watch of the same watch again 👍
